Default Three's Company or Friends?

http://cotc-massmediab.blogspot.com/...s-friends.html

"The sterotypes and generalizations had similarities. Jack Tripper was more like Joey, a ladies man and really out going and popular. Janet had a personality more like Monica in being considered the ugly duckling of the show and was more conservative. Chrissy was more like Phoebe, high strung, outgoing and energetic with alot of life. Teri had more of a personality like Rachel, educated and from money with a lot of intelligence. Sexual content has changed drastically, and that is probably the largest difference between these two television shows."

While there are similarities, I think these two are unique in their own right. To me, both seem like they were the "sexier" sitcoms of their generation. The young, "hip" series of their time. There's something about these two shows that have kept them extremely popular in syndication after all these years. Which do you think is the better sitcom, Three's Company or Friends? Or which is your favorite of the two?

I think Friends is the best and, it is also my fav. Friends was a more realistic show. Both of them we're absolutely hysterical. But friends could also take it to a whole different level. That being said Jack Tripper was probably the best character of them all with Chandler Bing coming in right behind him.

I’ve seen every episode of friends at least twice. Every time I see it I laugh.
It is one of my top 10 favorite shows of all time.

Well, Three's Company is my favorite sitcom of all time ever. It is my heart and soul. I enjoy Friends, but many things about it also really annoy me (the Ross and Rachel stuff drives me crazy. Super annoying and super not into it).

And omg, Jack is not Joey. He's more of a Chandler/Ross/Joey hybrid than anything.

But I mean, if you want to know the full extent of my feelings, see paragraph 5 of the following picture (actually part of a meme) that I created a couple years ago that I have provided a link to out of respect for language sensitive users.

I tried to like Friends. I watched it for a whole year when it first came on hoping I'd like it but I just couldn't get into it. And then when all these other imitator sitcoms popped up it made me hate it more. I do love the theme song ( one of the best of all time) and Rachel and Monica were hottt. lol

I never saw the similarities between TC and Friends though except that they were the sexier shows of their generation. lol

Hahaha I completely agree with you about Jack being more of hybrid of Chandler and Joey. Jack has a sense of humor more like chandler I think. Plus the whole looks thing lol I mean Joeys Italian.

I liked both shows equally because they both fell into that category of TV shows I love which is "FUN SHOWS"

What could have made Friends better is if they waited to pair up Ross/Rachel and Monica/Chandler in the last season

What could have made Three's Company better is not having the landlord seen but just referred to

Oh yeah. I'd place him at a Chandler before any of the rest.

LOL..me too. I tried watching Friends but it never made me laugh even once and they have no character like Jack Tripper.

3's Company is the far superior show and it's not close!

Jack Tripper was the best and Chrissy Snow was even funnier than Chandler Bing.

Jack Tripper was the best but I saw no character on Friends even remotely like Jack Tripper!

No contest,"Three's Company".Threes' Company is a very good show,a classic. As far as Friends goes,it's un-watchable in my opinion.

Friends is ok, but I like Three's Company way better. It's one of my favorite sitcoms.
