It was kind of nice to see that DNA testing cleared the husband. While most of the time police intuition is right, it makes me feel better that not every husband in one of these UM segments is a killer.

Great news... But imo, it was pretty obvious that her husband [was his name Jeff?] Was innocent. He was on of the most likeable ppl ever interviewed on UM..

Yeah, Jeff Oberholtzer seems like a straight-up, totally kind guy. It is obvious he misses Bobbi very much if you've read any articles or seen other shows about the case. What do you think happened? This is one of my favorite segments.

I understand that LE always has to look thoroughly at the spouse of a murder victim, but I think they developed a serve case of tunnel vision in regards to Jeff Oberholtzer and it might have distracted them from examining better leads for far too long.

I never understood why LE thought that Annette Schnee having his business card was such a damning piece of evidence. If Jeff had been planning to kill Annette, I don't think he would have given her his card first! And it was tucked away in her wallet, so it's not like it was a piece of evidence that could have accidentally been left behind in a struggle.

A couple years ago, the show "Sensing Murder" did a segment on the Orange Sock Murders and while I thought their psychic stuff was probably just a bunch of hooey, it was cool to see them do a more recent interview with Jeff Oberholtzer, who still seems like a very nice man.

In the book, "Monster," by Steven Jackson, it says the town of Breckenridge went into a panic after these murders. People started locking their doors and many women went out to buy guns. But apparently not everyone quit hitchhiking right away. Just one month after both Bobbi and Annette were murdered hitching a ride our of Breckenridge, another woman named Mary Brown hitched a ride out of Breckenridge from Thomas Luther who drove her out somewhere and gave her some injuries that are so horrific, I can't even type them. She was able to escape but how she managed to survive such a brutal attack is beyond me. The timing and location of this attack still makes me think Luther was someone involved in the murders of Bobbi and Annette.

I agree with those who say Jeff seemed like a nice guy in both the UM segment and the Sensing Murder episode from 2006. The police always have to look at the spouse when a murder investigation starts. But the book 'Monster,' kind of hints that the police were doubtful Jeff could have been the killer because the timeline of Annette's murder, Bobbi's phone call home, Bobbi's murder, the visit of Jeff's friend Joe and the fact both men drove to a gas station to buy some beer while waiting for Bobbi to come home...it would have been impossible. Even so, Jeff wasn't completely cleared until until DNA testing became available in the 90's. The blood on Bobbi's mitten wasn't hers and it wasn't Jeff's. Investigators met with Jeff in a coffee shop to tell him that he was no longer a suspect. At that point, he broke down in tears and asked if the police were finally going to find the real killer(s). Poor Jeff. He spent about a decade being looked at as the main suspect and many people in the area didn't want him in their homes. Even after all that, he still comes across as a very down to earth guy.

Years back, I remember reading online that several years after the murders, Jeff eventually remarried and had a son. But he still wants desperately for the killer to be caught so both Bobbi and Annette's families can have some kind of closure.

yeah, i never really thought Jeff did it. should he have been a suspect at first, yes, but charged, no. he didnt come off as a liar and while his knowing the other woman was out of nowhere, it doesnt make someone a killer. i still think the guy who did this was a sick guy who saw two sick opportunities and killed them because they could identify him.

They have DNA and this person killed twice. I doubt this person would voluntary stop and hopefully will be ID'ed.

However it needs to happen! We've seen some very strange and hard to solve cold cases get solved over the years. This is one that would be very fulfilling because this is one of the most memorable UM segments.

It would be great to have someone come forward in this case. like the people that were last seen with the victims or someone that was/is local that knows something. It's likely that the killer is from the area or has some type of connection to it. The DNA might not be the whole story because it could be someone else's(not the killer's) but at least a match would force someone to talk if not identify the killer himself.

I thought it was strange too that the detective came on UM and said that when someone knows two of the victims the case tends to center around that person. It makes total sense that Jeff didn't remember her at first(maybe by name) and then when he saw her picture that he was honest and called them to inform them that he did meet her once. Why would he lie about that? I guess it is easy to look back now that he has been cleared, but it is frustrating when investigators go after one person rather than keeping all avenues open. Perhaps that wasn't the case here though. it could be possible that in this case they just had no leads and he was the only suspect that they had at that time when the segment was filmed.

I watched this show recently on Netflix and came to see if anyone else had. I agree...the psychics seemed way off on this one. When then one said that Bobbi might have been killed out of jealousy to get back at "another man" (in this case, Jeff), I stopped holding out hope she was on to something.

It WAS nice to see Jeff again. You can tell he still loves her very much.

yeah I seen the psychic show too and while I can see two killers, I tend to go against their idea of it. I still believe it was just a sick guy who saw two sick opportunities and took them and then killed them both as they could identify him after he picked them up for a ride.
