Default Shouldn't Alice and Sam have lived together?

Look, I know it was more convienient for Alice to be a live-in maid for the Bradys, and the Bradys considered her family, but Sam was her steady, they were middle-aged, and they were not living in the same home. It would have made sense. They weren't teenagers, and on occasions, Sam was seen picking up or dropping off Alice. They should have lived together.

They had different rules on tv shows in the early 70's. While you could live together without being married on a show like AITF, it never would fly on a family show like The Brady Bunch. Dick Van Dyke actually quit his show in 1974 when CBS objected to an episode where his young daughter caught him and his wife having sex.lol

Yeah, I can't picture Alice and Sam living together at all unless they were married. And wow, I didn't' know that about Dick Van Dyke and his show. Interesting.

People in the Brady universe do not 'shack up', especially Sam and Alice.

So true! Mr. Brady would never have allowed that to happen, it would have been a bad influence for those six kids in the Brady universe.

Alice probably moved into Sam's apartment after they got married. Sam and Alice also probably slept in Alice's old bedroom whenever they spent the night.

Look, as late as 1988, on A Very Brady Christmas, Peter and his fiance didn't even sleep in the same room! Only the married couples!

Grandpa Evans was living with Lena on Good Times in 1976

A little OT but do you think it would have hurt the show to have Alice and Sam marry?
