Rhoda's Boss in season 4="Mr. Grant" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It is so obvious that they were trying to give Rhoda a similar boss that Mary Richards had because "Jack Doyle" looked like Mr. Grant, he sounded like Mr. Grant, and he was built like Mr. Grant. He looks like he can be related to Ed Asnet

So it was clear at this point of the series they were trying what worked on MTM since that show was no longer on the air.

I think it depends more what it was paired up with and what it was against.

yea, The Six Million Dollar Man was in it's last year and Disney was no longer the hit it used to be. lol
