Confused Why No 'Phyllis' Complete Series DVD???

I don't get it at all? Was Phyllis a smash hit on TV during its time? No, but it is a beloved character from a successful series in MTM and also Rhoda. If those 2 series can make it to DVD, then why not Phyllis? What is the real hold up? You could package it as the "complete series" seasons 1 & 2 together.

It is surprising since it's a MTM spinoff

This could be another reason why is not out on DVD. On TvshowsonDVDcom. the MTM show has 1300 votes for a DVD, Rhoda had 1100 and Phyllis only has 493

Phyllis also hasn't been seen in syndication as much as the other two series.

All the more reason to make a DVD and get it out there into people's consciousness again.

It just sickens me that fans are held hostage by these DVD companies.

And regardless of whether the show lasted only 2 seasons, it still part of the MTM universe and should be released

Absolutely! The same could be said about 'Lou Grant.'

The real reason is because Fox is no longer licensing any of their vintage shows to outfits like Shout Factory. (I don't want to say any more than that since a certain poster constantly harps about this on various message boards and it irks me to no end).

That is the reason we never got Season 5 of Rhoda when it was the lone one left to release. Had the two companies still been doing business together, I am positive Shout would have released Phyllis as a complete series set after Rhoda was complete.

Hey, I have a right to harp about that on various message boards. Fox is being completely ignorant and arrogant, and it's time for their stupid behavior to stop. Fox has been shooting themselves in the foot far too many times than I can count.
