Default My detailed season 3 DVD review for USATVFAN

Well let me just start out by saying that all the episodes are edited it's just that some are more edited than others. My run time are different because I stopped the minute the closing credits appeared on the screen. So with doing that all of the episodes end between 23 and 24 mins and it's funny that the episode with the least edits is the FIRST ONE and the episode with the most edits is the LAST ONE.

(Episode with longest length)
"The Separation"....24:44

(Episode with the most edits)
"To Vegas with Love".......23:02

(Two episodes with Unusual Opening Credits)
"Man of the Year"
"Guess Who I Saw Today"

(Two episodes with obvious edits)
Rhoda Question her life and flies to Paris.....at 7:21 Mark
"Man of the Year.".......at 21:09 mark

(Episode with a surprise ending)
"The Ultimatum"

(Guest Appearances by Big Stars)
Jerry Stiller
Doris Roberts
Tim Reid

(My opinion only...Best episode of season 3)
"A Night in the Emergency Room"

(Surprise Guest Appearance in this Episode)
"Pajama Party Bingo"

(Worst Edit on the DVD was in this episode)
"What are you doing for New Years Eve?"-Large chunk of Carlton's appearance at the party was cut.

Other Notes

1. New Female character is introduced in the beginning of the season and is removed from the show before the season.

2. Valerie Harper's real life husband appears in "Man of the Year"

3. Valerie Harper's real life step daughter appears in "Together Again for the First time" and "Guess Who I saw Today"

4. The Carlton the doorman was doing something silly at Rhoda's party dancing in ep "What are you doing for New Year's Eve?"

5. Brenda has a surprising hairstyle in the episode...."Pajama Party Bingo"

Still a very funny season even though Joe was slowly phased out as the season went on because the storylines and the acting ability of Valerie Harper.

Not sure why your runtimes are so way off, but "To Vegas With Love" is 23:57, and "The Separation" is 25:34. Those "obvious" edits arent so obvious (and i doubt em), but without original masters how will anyone ever know.

I should have mentioned that I stopped counting once the episode ended because no one watches the closing credits. The fact still remains that all the eps are edited except for the first one because that is the longest episode out of the entire set

You don't know the definition of a "OBVIOUS EDIT?"" It's when you are watching one scene and then it just jumps to another scene which doesn't match.

Example, in the episode "Rhoda question her life and flies to Paris, there is a scene when she is talking to Gary and stand up to tell him off and all of a sudden she is having another conversation. So now you have your definition.

And if you have the season 3 DVD all you have to do is go to the point of the episode I mentioned.
