so, I was watching this episode on ME TV the other night, and even though I've seen it a few dozen times over the years (including on my DVD) I noticed something in the closing credits that I hadn't noticed before for some reason-Marys calipso number-"TRUE MON TRUE"-was written by Morey Amsterdam.

It always strikes me as strange that Morey actually was a true writer. I don't know if he was meant to be an old-fashioned hack joke writer on the show but that's how he seemed to me. He didn't seem to be coming up with new lines for the sketches, he'd just rattle 'em off like he was remembering them rather than creating new jokes. Yet Morey, of the three, was the one who actually did write songs and create new material.
