Default Wonder why this show was MISSING from national syndication from 1990-2002

I mean it's so HOT now in syndication with a 10 year run on various cable networks but for some reason why seen anywhere in the 1990's. Very confusing.

It was seen in local syndication briefly in 1989/90 and then it was gone until 2002 in local syndication also

It aired where I lived in 90-91, That is when I first started to watch GT.

Ok so it was missing from national syndication until like 1999. I didn't discover the show on TBS until 2002 and remember being so excited because I had not seen the show in 13 years

Even if it did the show still had a long hiatus from cable during the early to late 90's

Well it must have been TBS because I can remember watching it in the summer. Back when the Game show Network actually had vintage Game shows on.

I was, too. That is when I discovered the show on VHS with Columbia House in 1999 and subscribed to it. Saturday afternoons would be reserved with air conditioning in the living room as I watched the last eps that were send to me in the mail.

Yeah, I subscribed to those and Sanford and Son. I remember seeing them advertised on commercials and in Jet and Ebony magazines. So that what got me to subscribe. I had all the epiodes when all of a sudden in 2002, they started releasing them on DVD! I was like damn! lol

I didn't believe it at first, though. I thought it was hoax. "A full season's worth of episodes on a disc for $24.99. No way!?", I thought. LOL. It true, needless to say.

The show didn't come on national syndication for years but it did come on local syndication on WXON-TV 20 from 1990 to 1993 and UPN-TV 13 from 1996 to 2002.
