Do you think all in the family could be made into a 2 hour long movie in the future, if they found people in real life that looked just like the characters in the show, i myself think it would work if they had a plot, good storyline, suberb acting skills it would gross alot in the box office it could be a ducumentary film about the lives of the actors behind the set.

I would leave well enough alone and looks don't have much to do with it anymore when you consider they hired Cedric the Entertainer to play Ralph Kramden.

I agree... I'm sure they COULD make it into a movie but it's best to just leave it alone.

As a huge fan of classics, I would say it would be a flop. A classic should always stay a classic. Case in point - the Leave It To Beaver movie was horrendous! I had to watch out of morbid curiosity, but it was just WRONG! I mean really, it wasn't even set in the same era as the original show! I can't stand the actor who played Ward. He had no concept of who the character was but of course none of them did and it really didn't matter when they weren't true to the roots of the show anyway. So no, I don't like any kind of remakes at all. To me it is an insult to classic TV to attempt to do so, IMO.

The only thing I want to see from AITF now that Carroll O'Connor has left us would be a real life reunion show, as they did with M*A*S*H, wherein Jean, Rob and Sally sat and shared memories of the show and Carroll.
I think any attempt to recapture (or more likely, exploit) the unique magic these four and Lear created would be doomed to failure. |
