As for the first season, it did use characters to have personalities similar to the ones in the original, but in my opinion wasn't the same without the original characters needless to say. Logically speaking, I feel the return of Screech was for the purpose of higher ratings, prolonging the series into a longer run. Hope all this helps. Imad |

I'd say the New Class is not that much like the original. It went through at least some casting changes every single year, so you don't grow attached to people and watch them grow up like with the first series. Towards the last few seasons of New Class the episodes were pretty much split up with the teen scenes and Screech/Mr. Belding scenes. It's like they didn't interact much at all. (Which was fine by me. Screech and Belding were written very cartoonish. It got so bad that I would end up taping the show on Saturday mornings so that I could fast forward through their scenes.)

I'd watch the whole series if it was available. Its still worth watching considering that the cast changed every year. I would be bothered by that but what are you going to do?

As a Saved By the Bell fan, I have seen every episode of every series- all the way from the original pilot for "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" through the run of that series (I remember watching it when it first aired in the late '80s) and through the original run of "Saved By the Bell", "Saved By the Bell: The College Years" and "Saved By the Bell: The New Class" as well as the SBTB TV-movies.
I enjoy all of it. I'd say it's all worth watching. The New Class series is a bit different in some ways- and though the cast is rotating almost every season, technically Seasons 6 and 7 keep the same cast. I think each group that comes through offers their own certain charms- I enjoy all of the different characters. And that's honestly a little more realistic in some ways- people do move to different areas and transfer schools and such. And people do make other friends and hang out with different people. Of course, most principals don't hang with one group of kids that essentially the whole school revolves around- lol. But I think they're all fun and worth watching. |

The new class was worth watching because not Screech came back to grab some old fans, but to complete his teen popularity and gain more respect from the students of the new class.
I just don't understand why the new class is messed up and why they do not mention Screech's future in the new class series finale at all? I wonder if they could produce a Screech movie to bring him back to fame with respect, this time? |

The Show is only worth watching because one well known person that was from SBTB is in this show aka screech powers, he is not that much of a dork in this show folks he is more like a mentor to the young high school kids in this show.

The 20th Anniversary Reunion of the original class was badly experienced when they exclude Dustin Diamond due to bad relationships between him and the original class. Now there are dysfunctional and minority fans continuing to make giant brawls against the original class.
The original class is aired privately and they are never going to make another reunion ever again. The 20th Anniversary reunion that I want to look forward is Hang Time instead, in 2015. |

Yeah their is more to the story of the saved by the bell relationship other then Dustin Diamond being 3 or 4 years younger then the other cast members it has nothing to do with age gap maybe it had something to do with him playing a unpopular unlucky character and them playing the most popular kids at bayside high school, sometimes people actually start to think the person on a TV show has the same personality in real life which is not true except for the guy who played MR T, his personality is just like the character he played on The A Team in real life lol.

Dustin Diamond wanted to quit playing the nerd, because it did not make him any good becoming equally popular. But they told him not to because the nerd role attracts immature fans.
I still blame on both the producers and writers for applying the nerd role on Dustin and at the same time on the difficultly-made original class. |

If Dustin Diamond wanted to quit playing the nerd role, he should have either asked that the character of Screech be dramatically transformed on "Saved By The Bell: The New Class" (which wasn't going to happen) or just not accepted the role to begin with- and if he had, I don't think that series would have lasted nearly as long as it did. I enjoy the show thoroughly though myself and Dustin Diamond did a great job in the role of Screech. Yes, he can certainly play other roles- it's unfortunate that typecasting always seems to follow iconic roles. Elizabeth Berkley is a famous example who experienced that as she did "Showgirls" after finishing with "Saved By The Bell" to help show that she could play different roles.
But Screech was needed as he was on SBTB:TNC because Screech was a comedic character- he was a comic foil for Mr. Belding. And they did sort of an "Odd Couple" style comedy, especially in the later seasons. I love it but I know that not all people enjoy that- and that's okay. It's unfortunate that Dustin Diamond was not invited to People Magazine's 20th. anniversary reunion photo shoot, but it's also unfortunate that he had apparently so badly alienated his castmates from "Saved By The Bell" that they wanted nothing to do with him. It would be great to see that get resolved and see him apologize to the rest of the cast for the awful things he said about them in his book and to see them forgive him. I doubt that he knows Jesus as Savior though and I pray that he will come to know Him [and I pray that for the rest of the cast for that matter]- as God is the only One who can change his heart and bring the reconciliation that is needed. |

I have seen one episode of New Class and i prefer the original group of people, The New Class in my opinion should have never happened, saved by the bell should have been canceled back in 1993 after the wedding in las vegas episodes where zack and kelly get married, i guess the producers were just looking for more quick cash bringing in a diff'rent group of young kids in high school.

The original class should have been ALL NORMALITIES. The spin-off new class should have two nerd characters: a boy and a girl.
The writers panicked and made a dangerous move including Screech in the difficultly-made original class. Right now, actor Dustin Diamond needs to seek a private mental therapist immediately, before it gets too late. |
