First of I love Conan's comedy. It was not suited for The Tonight Show. His target audience is more young adults and college students when he did Late Night and a good chunk of the older audience find his humor too silly and goofy. I love that type of slapstick humor. I love his TBS show where he can go back to his goofy and silly humor. What NBC loss became TBS fain. Hope Conan stay beyond 2014. I love him and Andy. They work so well together. You can tell those two are genuinely friends.

He never really had a fair shot at the gig in my opinion. Yes, Conan's humor is different from Jay Leno's, but it does skewer younger. Younger is what every network wants, so I think NBC screwed up royally here.

No, he never changed his style of humor to fit the Tonight Show. If he knew that he was going to be on at a different time why not adjust his style?

He did tone himself down, and even on TBS he has for 11. He hasn't been as funny since he left his 12:35 gig, and that's coming from someone who watched that show religiously growing up. I can barely stand him and his 11pm show now on TBS. It's like watching Conan Lite, and that's not what I want.

they screwed up every yonight show host has changed tthe format to fit there style and if the pinheadsat nbc who ran things at that time knew anything at all about the history of the tonight show they would have known that but instead they wanted conan to be just like jay and before that they wanted jay to be just like johnny and on and on

The whole thing was wrought with bad decisions and even worse timing from everyone involved. I equally blame all parties. NBC screwed the pooch by hiring the polar opposite of Leno and immediately expecting the same numbers. Leno f'd up because.... well, he's Leno and throwing people under the bus is his career. Conan tried too hard to water down his humor in order to appease NBC and the critics. As an avid Conan fan since the late 90s, it was evident the show was basically "Conan Lite." I actually grew tired of it and stopped watching after 6 weeks. His Tonight Show stint is definitely the weakest of his 3 shows. So no, I do not believe he was a good fit.

Conan made it clear on his last Late Night Show that he was not going to changw his style. He stated that someone said when he went to The Tonight Show that it was time for him to grow up. He knows he is who he is. That's too bad because he should not left Late Night. He was great on there once he hit his stride.

Wrong! Conan did change his humor for Tonight and it BOMBED! You could tell from the very first Tonight Show with Conan that Conan was different than his late night days!

Plus you guys realize Conan was actually LOSING viewers at Late Night on NBC? Even Ferguson beat him some nights! He was down to 1.5 million viewers a night! Leno had over 5 million viewers a night!! Only a FOOL would replace Leno when he was on top like that! Leno was destroying Letterman every night in the ratings yet when Conan took over Letterman beat Conan's Tonight!

This is all Zucker's fault! He was a TOTAL moron for replacing a legend like Leno who was number 1 in the ratings for 15 years! Now Leno is back where he belongs and Conan is where he belongs on a network where no one sees him!
