Wow. It's been a while since I've been on here. Lol. I'm not going to finish SM because is been so long, I've forgotten characters I've added and some plots, so I'm going to start a new one. Sorry to the fans of SM. But I hope you enjoy this one. =)
*** It was a pretty spring day in Peekskill, NY in 1983. The sun was shining, birds were chirping and flowers were blooming. But Jo, Blair, Natalie and Tootie weren't enjoying it.They were inside cleaning up the cafeteria and kitchen. That was kind of their job, seeing as how they stole the school van. Theyvpaid it off, but they just HAD to get in a paint fight while painting their would-be former bedroom for the new tentants. They were assigned kitchen duty again to pay for that. Something told Mrs. Edna Garrett, the school dietician, they got in the fight subconsciencly on purpose. They were the four musketeers. No matter how many fights they got into, they couldn't break the closeness they had. Blair and Jo, both polar opposites, were living testaments to that. "Looking good, girls." Mrs. G stated as she walked I'm the cafeteria from upstairs. Her hair was combed and she changed clothes. "You sound surprised." replied Natalie, not hiding her modesty. "Where are you going?" asked Tootie, who was finishing up whiping off a table. "I have a doctor's appointment. Nothing serious. Just a check up." "That's what they always say." Tootie relied, her eyes suddenly in a trance. "What's that supposed to mean?" asked Jo, as she and Blair walked away from the food bar they cleaned. "That movie last night. An innocent man we to the doctor for 'just a check up.' little did he know, Dr. Black had other plans for him." "So that's why you got in bed with me." said Jo. "You said you saw a mouse." "U lied. I knew if Dr. Black was going to come in, you would beat the crap out of him." "Or just give him to you." Tootie glared at her. "Rest assured, Tootie," Mrs. Garrett continued. "I've been seeing Dr. Garber for years and he's not a psycho killer." "On the outside." *** "Blair," Natalie walked into the lounge where the pretty blonde was reading the lastest issue of Glamour. "May I borrow your...?" "No." "You don't even know what I was going to ask." "You want to borrow my diamond earrings for your date tonight." "Well, maybe you do. Please, Blair?! And it's not a date. it's a group outing with some girls from Eastland and some boys from Bates. But I'm hoping those diamond earrings will lead to a date." "Natalie," Blair looked up from her magazine and looked in her friends eyes. "Diamonds sayv rich. Those boys from Bates don't know you. Wearing diamonds on your first 'group outing' will lead them to the wrong idea. You're supposed to be yourself from the start." "I thought about that. And if one of them IS interested in me, I can hitch my dad and your mom up. Bingo! I'm rich." "As clever as that idea is, the answer is still no. Where were you going to wear diamond earrings anyway?" "The Food Shack." Blair's eyes widened. "What? That place needs all the class it can get." Just then, Mrs. Garrett walked in, in a trance. The girls looked at her. "Mrs. Garrett, you ok?" asked Blair. Silence. "Mrs. G," Tootie said, walking in, holding a piece of paper. "Glad you're back. I'm having issues with this song for the spring musi..." She noticed the dead look in Mrs. Garrett's face. "What's wrong with her?" "She came in like that." replied Natalie. "I have to have a blood transfusion," came the answer, as dead as the vessel's face. The girls looked at each other in shock, then back at Mrs. G. *** |

Obviously, I lied and didn't post it when I said I was. Long story. Anyway, here's more. Enjoy!
![]() *** Silence filled the room for a good 5 minutes. Everybody's eyes were on the woman in front of her. "Oh. Here's the party." Jo exclaimed as she walked in the room. "Nat, where's your..." She noticed how still everybody was. "What are you? An oil painting?" "Mrs. Garrett has to have a blood tranfusion", replied Blair, her eyes never leaving the woman. "What?! Why?!" "Apparently, my red cell count us low. I have to go Thursday for the... Operation." "Thursday?!" Tootie echoed. "The day after tomorrow?" "Thats the one." Then, she broke her emotionless expression. "And not a word about this to anyone!" Everyone in the room looked at Tootie. "Now, that's just hurtful. I can't help it if I happen to hear things." "Well, now hear this: Not a word to anybody. Understand? I don't want people worrying over nothing. Dr. Garber said he's done blood transfusions hundreds if times." "I told you a check up wasn't just a 'check up'. Replied Tootie, eyes wide and looking at the blank TV. "Tootie, no more Scary Midnight Theater." said Jo. Mrs. G, is there anything we can do for you?" "Just go on as if nothing is happening." Then, Nancy Olson walked on the room. Everybody became quiet, stiff. "Wow." the brunett replied. "The engery in this room is really heavy. What's going on?" Everybody eyed Tootie, which made Nancy do the same. Tootie became nervous. Everything in her wanted to tell Nancy and the world what was going on, but she couldn't. Instead, she looked Nancy firmly in the eyes. "I don't know anything and you can't make me say it!" And, with that, the young Eastland girl ran out of the room. *** "You've been quiet all day," Cindy Webber said the next day over lunch. "Are you sure everything's ok?" "Yeah, fine" replied Natalie, taking a bite of corn. "Liar. I can tell it in your voice. Come on. Spill, Nat." "There's nothing to spill." Just then, she got an idea. The perfect scheme to get away from Cindy. She put her elbows on the table and inched them ever so slowly to her glass of tea until it knocked over and spilled on the floor. "Oops. I'm such a klutz." And with that, she ran to the kitchen. Cindy, then spied Tootie, and with a big smile pn her face, the blonde made her way to her prey's table. "Tootie!" She sat down. "Long time, no see." "Cindy. How are you?" "I'm good. But I would be even better if I knew why Natalie was so quiet. And I've noticed you, Jo and Blair are acting the same way. What's going on?" "I don't know anything. Tootie tried to hide her surprised/nervous look. "Come on, Tootie. We all know you can keep a secret. So if you don't tell me now, you will eventually. Better to just get it over with." "I'm sorry. I can't. Excuse me." Cindy sighed in disapointment as Tootie took her tray to the trash can. Blair won't say anything. Jo would knock her teeth out if she pushed the Bronx girl too much. I guess the only I can do is keep my eyes and ears open, she thought. |

"How's our patient?" Mrs. Garrett's sister, Beverly Ann Stickle asked as she walked on her sisters hospital room.
"A nervous wreck. How are the girls?" "Jo said everybody's fine, but they're asking where you're at. They had an assembly to introduce the new dietician." "Assembly?!" Mrs. G's eyes popped out of her head. "I told Mr. Parker to keep this under wraps. Oh, that man makes me so angry!!!" "Edna, calm down. He didn't say why she was there. For all the kids know, you could have family trouble. Or be sick. Besides, they're going to notice a woman doing your job sooner or later." "You're right. I'm sorry. Gee, I hope Tootie keeps quiet about this. I don't want this out." "And she understands why." Beverly Ann shut the door, walked over to her sister and took her hand. "My goodness, your hand is shaking. Are you that nervous Tootie will spill the beans?" "No. I don't know, but I have a horrible feeling feeling something's going to go wrong during the surgery." "Like what, Miss Cleo?" "I'm serious, Beverly Ann. And I don't know what, but it's something." |
