Default Amazon charging taxes now???!!

Just got a confirmation on my Dynasty being shipped and I noticed they charged me taxes. I had never been charged taxes so I talked to a rep there and they said now they would be charging for my state. Well I nicely told her my buying power there would go down and Id look somewhere else for better deals. I still get free shipping but I can get free shipping from other sites too it will just take more time to arrive since I had the 2 day arrival..going to have to cancel that too soon. Ugh...upsets me to no end. Damn Amazon!

it's not Amazon's fault - it is because YOUR state is forcing them to charge sales tax

you can always try another vendor

My state has also jumped on the Amazon tax bandwagon. Since we have a Amazon Distribution Center here they say they can charge it, they just couldn't stand to lose one cent of that revenue. Bummer!

I wasnt aware of it. I told the young lady about it and she said we were told about it. I told her I didnt know where it was advertise. But good thing came of it...the pricing for the dvd came out to 50 bucks with tax but I got a discount for speaking up and only paid 21 dollars for the DVD.

I'll be depressed when my state starts mandating Amazon to charge tax. It's pretty hard to complain though. To think of the hundreds, maybe thousands of tax dollars I've saved that SHOULD have been paid had it been purchased at any brick and mortar store.

Those Amazon web site People are very Greedy People Any way to make more Money from someone buying things on their web site is ok in their book, the reason i dont buy anything from Amazon is because it takes almost a month to ship it to your house and the killer is the tax shipping, its easier for some folks to just go to the store grab what they want pay the employee people at the front of the store and go home and enjoy themselves by watching their favorite TVDVD show.

It sucks if you're in one of the states that can collect tax, but you really have been getting a deal for years now. It just makes it confusing that some states charge, but most (I think) still don't.

This may be the case in larger cities, but in small towns there are few places to buy from and even fewer with much TV in stock. My closest brick and mortar store is an hours drive and their prices are much higher in many cases than Amazon and there is no avoiding tax there. I have been able to acquire many complete series thanks to the used DVD's available on Amazon. I buy from them enough to make Prime shipping a good deal. To me they are a great company , if you want greedy try buying or selling DVd's on ebay.
