Movie The Late Don Grady's Terrorble Top 10 List (+1)

http://www.examiner.com/article/r-i-...he-horror-list

R.I.P. Don Grady, one of My Three Sons, and thanks for the horror list

Is it possible that the child actor who played Robbie Douglas on "My Three Sons" is no longer with us? According to reports, Grady died at the age of 68 after a battle with cancer.

It wasn't long ago that Horror Happenings reported that Grady had been in show biz over 50 years? When we asked the actor/musician for his Top 10 list for Horror Happenings, he was nice enough to send it in to us instantly! We re-print it in memory of the former Mickey Mouse Club "Mousketeer" who went on to become Robbie Douglas in "My Three Sons" from 1960-72.

Don Grady's Terrorble Top 10 List (+1)

Diabolique - not the '96 re-make but the original, French version in 1955 with Simone Signoret. I saw it when I was eleven... had nightmares about it till I was fifteen. So real, with such a great twist. Loved it! Watched it again when I was older....it was even better.

The Fly (1958) Again, the 1958 original with Vincent Price. I mean, what kid didn't see this and end up squeeking out the famous quote, "Help me! Help me!" for the next five years of his life!? The re-make with Jeff Goldblum was not too bad, either.

Outbreak (1995) with Dustin Hoffman. What's more scary than a virus? Who can avoid a cold? It's what you can't see that undoes you the most.

The Blob (1958) the original starring Steve McQueen. "It crawls... It creeps... It eats you alive!" Ha ha! Great stuff.

Misery (1990) I don't care how nice of a role she takes on, I can't look at Kathy Bates without seeing that knife in her hands. I've had a few nutsy fans myself....maybe that's why this flick gets to me.

The Shining (1980) Again, a movie with a quote that lasted forever. All together now: "Heeeeere's Johnny!" Nicholson at his deliciously scary best.

It Came from Outer Space (1953 classic) This was before Lucasfilm figured out how to create anything the filmmaker could think of and put it on film. This was when you had to overlook the jerky movements of the alien ship as it landed and fill in the blanks with your imagination. And the truth is, there's nothing more scary than your imagination! Granted, I probably would laugh out loud at this one today, but when I was a kid, this was underwear changing time.

Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) OK, I keep dating myself. Problem is, as you get more experience with films (another way of saying "older") it starts taking better special effects and more interesting stories to get the goose bumps up. Back then, all it took was a guy in a bad wet suit.

The Man with the Golden Arm (1955) Since I'm on a roll with the fifties, you must check this one out. I fell in love with Kim Novak in this film, and since I was only eleven that's scary enough! The film is not in the thriller genre at all. But it's about straight-vein drug addiction, and at eleven it scared the hell out of me. So did Kim Novak. How was I ever going to get to her?

The Sixth Sense (1999) I know, I know. Not an original pick. But who can deny the sweetness of this thriller? It's been under my skin since the first time I saw it. And that was at least four views ago.

Bonus: Ma Barker and Her Killer Brood (1960) Shameless plug. I played Herman, the sensitive one. Not a horror film....a bad B film. But Ma (Lurene Tuttle) scared the bejeezus out of me as her method-acting reality slaps-to-my-face practically cold-cocked me on the set! At sixteen it was an introduction to the brutality of the acting profession. I've been scared ever since.
