Default ATTENTION: ALICE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON DVD FLAWS!

While I'm finally thankful that Warner finally released the complete first season of Alice on DVD and I think most of the episodes look and sound great, however, once again the young people who work in these departments who produce these things have once again done a sloppy job and not done their homework. And quite frankly in my humble opinion couldn't care less about what they are working on! Because some of the episodes are very poorly edited and rushed when breaking for a pause where the commercial usually went, most noticeably in the first break for the episode A Call to Arms. There is no pause between Act 1 & Act 2 in this episode. And in some of the other episodes before the theme is just ending, we have the first act already rushing in and beginning. Sloppy!

Now the biggest mistake so far on this whole DVD set is on Disc #3. where the first two episodes are out of order!

Yes some idiot at Warner messed up by putting episode #18: "The Hex" as the first episode on Disc #3 which originally aired on 2-5-77 before episode #17: "The Failure" which originally aired first on 1-29-77.

So if someone at Warner is reading this or someone would like to notify them to correct any MOD future sets, that would be helpful! This is not the first time I have noticed that someone at Warner Home Video has screwed up when it comes our favorite TV shows on DVD because I know they also messed up on some of the opening scenes on the third season DVD set of Gilligan's Island too!
WARNER, GET IT TOGETHER ALREADY! THESE DVD'S ARE NOT FREE!!

Agree with Ron Ron. I wasn't going to reply in this thread but I couldn't resist. It's too funny how picky some people are. I'm very happy with my set and can't wait for season 2!

Well I did buy it and and in this time of economic recession where people like me have to shell out $35.00 for a DVD set with flaws, we can be picky! If I wanted such a sloppy job, I would have just recorded them myself off cable. Now if they were giving away this DVD for free then, I personally would not really have said anything! However the fans do need to know about the problems with this set and make up their own minds whether they still want to buy it or not? Now with that said, I will say it again, the episodes were rushed and poorly edited and the two episodes being out of order is a big deal for most serious fans of the show. TVShowsonDVD.com has suggested that we all call and complain to Warner about the problems. Their customer service number is 866-373-4389. Hopefully the dummies at Warner can fix the problem with future MOD sets of Alice like they did with The Bionic Woman Season 2 DVD flaws when enough fans called Universal and complained and Universal fixed the problem! Thanks.

There is that fine line between picky and insane perfectionism.

"insane perfectionism?" This is not even about a little perfectionism or there would be a whole list of what's wrong with this DVD set! However, there are mistakes that can easily be fixed.
But thanks for your opinion though!

Just spoke to Customer Service at Warner. Their customer service number is 866-373-4389. They said if a few people call in about the problems, they will more than likely try to correct them and issue another set and with an episode guide too! So make sure you call up about the problems. Thanks.

1.) DISC 1 Episode #5 A Call To Arms Problem: No pause between Act 1 & Act 2
2.) DISC 3 Episode #18 The Hex (OAD: 2-5-77) and Episode #17: The Failure (OAD: 1-29-77) are out of order.
3.) No Episode Guide was included with the DVD set.

Hopefully if a enough fans call up and let Warner know about these faults, they'll be a new girl, I mean a new DVD in town!

I'd rather call them and ask when Season 2 is coming out.

The episode guide not being included was mentioned in the SitcomsOnline DVD Review

Edited episodes on a DVD is not a laughing matter

Edited is when something is left out....nothing was left out.....the mentioned poster is talking about how one scene flows to the next....I saw no problem there....if there was one it is a slight one at best and doesnt distract from viewing that episode. I have seen the episode and didnt notice it...so I think it's a waste of time to complain. They aren't going to fix it. Remember this is a MOD release not a regular in stores one. You and others should be satisfied it is on DVD at all. If you dont want to purchase the dvd fine. But quit trying to bring down the release for others.....you have told us already about the problems quit telling us to call,,,most if not who responded on here arent going to and the review didnt mention any problems with editing.

Again, I said I won't RUSH to buy it because of the information. I never said I wouldn't purchase it

Anyone reading this thread is free to do what they want but for the most part Warner has already stated that they will take a look at the problems and possibly correct the mistakes if enough people call in. It's not that difficult to correct since this is a MOD. This was suggested by Gordon at TVShowsonDVD.com. With that said, you're free to settle and keep your sloppy DVD set and just be happy but there will be many other fans out there who want their money's worth. Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to let everyone know about these issues Jack77. I still plan on ordering a copy in the very near future.
