Archie and George were not alike to me at all - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Archie showed he was prejudice against more than one race because he didn't know any better.

George went out of his way to express he hates White people in almost every scene he was in on AITF and the Jeffersons in the 1974/75 era.

Archie was ignorant but not LOUD

George was LOUD and ignorant

Archie never went out of his way to be accepted by black people

George always went out of his way to be accepted by white women

So when it's akways said that these two characters are just alike I beg to differ because they are nothing alike to me.

The reasons George went out of his way were always money motivated, he always had an ulterior motive.

Archie did have his loud moments especially when he was trying to get his point across. In ABP he got along with Ellen which was a huge step for Archie. He also got along with Lionel, Archie just always said stupid things.

I would say that they were pretty much the same personality wise. Both didn't really get along with anyone until they got to know the person. With due time both characters grew.

But Archie didn't like anyone LOL. If you weren't White AND Protestant, he didn't want to hear anything you had to say, unless it benefited him in some kinda way. With Archie you couldn't be Jewish, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Mormon, Atheist or Agnostic even if you were White LOL.

Another dissimilarity between George and Archie was grammatical
skills. George's were much better. He didn't confuse words that existed for different meanings, like Archie.

George and Archie were two different men Archie was a straight up racist and wanted everybody to agree with him he was a bigot he had to get some things off his mind and he dident care if people liked him are not he always told it like it is witch was always funny to me, George was not really racist he was just a angry black man with a short fuse and he liked to scream and boss people around he said some racist things here and their but it was out of fun not to offend anybody he was a good man that woudent hurt a fly unless you got on his bad side lol

They were different, but alike in many ways. But Solomon, Archie was loud at times, he didn't huff and puff like george constantly did, but he had his loud moments. But remember when the Bunkers got invited to Lionel and Jenny's party? That was a reminder that Archie and george were alike, hell, they even agreed and had a toast at the closing of the episode, but Archie was from the white point of view and George was from the black.

Explain how they were just alike? I need an example because I can't think of one

They both put people down

They always had bigotted wise cracks

They were both selfish
