Default The Season 5 DVD American History Lesson

From watching all 24 episodes of Season 5, these are all the things that were going on in the country based on the references from the characters.

1. High Unemployment rate in the U.S in 1974

2. WIP Inflation campaign was started by President Ford in 1974

3. Nixon resigned as President of U.S. in 1974

4. The price of meat was very high in 1974

5. The U.S. economy was weak in 1974

6. Interest rates were very high in 1974

7. Ed Mcmahon was the Tonight Show announcer in 1974

8. Unemployment rate for blacks and hispanics were very high in 1974

9. Good Humor Ice Cream Truck started to suffer from gas prices in 1974

10. The salary gap between men and women started to narrow in 1974

11.The Human Population grew to 4 billion in 1974

12. The Waltons was the 2nd most popular TV show in 1974

13. Joe Namath was the starting Quarterback for the Jets in 1974

14.Color Television begin broadcasting in color in 1974

15. Muhummad Ali was the boxing champion in 1974

16. Rosey Grier was a famous singer and actor in 1974

17. The Merv Griffin Show was a award winning Day Time talk show in 1974

18. Nelson Rockefeller became Vice President of the U.S. in 1974

19. Mogen David Wine was very popular in 1974

20. Kojak was a popular Police TV show in 1974

I was starting 3rd grade that year. We moved from our trailer into our house that August. I remember watching Pres. Nixon resign while we were packing.

This show is so topical which is why I prefer to to watch it on DVD and not syndication. Once I complete seasons 6 to 9, I'm done with AITF for life-lol


I will only watch Archie Bunker's Place after that
