Default I Never Knew That Shelley Hack Was the Original Christine Sullivan!

Interesting! Night Court went through so many cast changes over the first few seasons that I never heard about this until now.

Thanks for posting this Justin. I remember when she was cast on Night Court but then I didn't hear anything else about it and she never even appeared. They were changing the cast so often that first year, I thought they just forgot her.

Yeah, I read that somewhere, but I'm pretty sure her episode (s) never aired anywhere, unless they're part of NC's DVD sets.

Ha ha! Like WB would actually put any special features on the Night Court sets.
No, her episode is non-existent unless someone out there has a copy and posts it online.

You're welcome, Sonny. I'm glad they got Markie Post because she was great, but it would have been interesting to see Shelley Hack in that role.

Same here. Shelley Hack was a better actress than a lot of people gave her credit for.

From what I understand, Shelley left after a few days of filming the episode "Daddy for the Defense". They brought in Markie Post to replace her and had to rerecord the entire episode. Markie was still on the Fall Guy so she couldn't join the cast so they replaced her with a new character named Billie Wagner, played by Ellen Foley.

I'd love to see footage from the Shelley Hack episode, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Yeah, I'm watching Season 4 of Charlie's Angels and don't understand why they fired her. She's just as good as the others, IMO.

The big flaw was that she wasn't Kate Jackson!! I guess the public felt that the new girl was the perfect scapegoat. Too bad, because I really enjoyed her (too brief) moments in the sun like "Angels on Campus" and "Of Ghosts and Angels".

That's exactly what happened. Kate Jackson was the leader and when she left ratings fell. I thought Shelly did fine on the show. I liked her better than Tanya Roberts.

Heck, Shelley made her "Angels" debut the same time I made my real life debut (September of 1979)!! I think by the time Tanya came on, no one really cared about the show anymore and that's why it was gone after the 1980-81 season.

I have to admit, I never saw the 1980-81 season until it went into syndication.

Neither did I - probably because I was only a year old when Tanya debuted.

I agree with the comments about Shelley Hack,I liked her as Tiffany on "Charlie's Angels",can't see why she was dropped.

When Tanya Roberts joined, they had her bursting out of a bikini, desperate to get ratings up,it didn't work.
