Family-friendly cabler GMC TV has greenlit two unscripted skeins, "The Bulloch Family Ranch" and "I Forgive You."
Shows are part of GMC's initiative to beef up its original series offerings marketed under the "GMC World Premiere Series" banner. Cabler is targeting November preems for both shows. "Ranch" follows Julie and Rusty Bulloch, a couple who are raising 25 children from troubled backgrounds. Net has ordered seven hourlong episodes to be produced by Peacepoint Entertainment Group and Cry Baby Media. Production will get underway this month in Florida. "I Forgive You" will be a docuseries centered around giving people the opportunity to forgive a person from their past. For now, GMC has ordered a one-hour special but intends to expand "I Forgive You" into a series. Arnold Shapiro Prods. and Bayonne Entertainment are on board to produce. The two skeins are among 13 unscripted projects GMC has in development. Net expects to greenlight more shows in the near future. "The launch of our GMC World Premiere Series strategy is an exciting next step in our vastly expanded original programming initiative," said Brad Siegel, GMC's vice chairman. "Our original series will offer a welcome and much needed alternative to the often sensationalistic, exploitative and negative reality genre, delivery on GMC's brand promise of 'Uplifting Entertainment' by focusing on good people doing good things." http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118055894 |
