When Julia child was talking to Irma Rombauer about her book, Irma said she had some life insurance money from her husband who took a gun to his head. But isn't it always been a rule that life insurance never gets paid on suicides? At least that's what I was told.

I used to think that too, but I know a few people who collected on suicides. Maybe there's some kind of clause in the policies ?
