Default Was this featured on UM?

It was where a woman was having a heart attack and her pet pot-bellied pig got the attention of a neighbor who later called 911 and the lady ended up surviving. I think it was also shown along with another case where a dog I think saved someone but I don't recall too much about that one.

Hmm.... I'm pretty sure the pig episode was featured. Or wa that Rescue 911? I know I have seen it.

I was going to say, sounds like a Rescue 911 episode to me. I vaguely remember something along these lines as well.

Still, never tops my all time favorite, the kid who gets his tongue stuck to the freezer.

haha, yes! I remember watching that. That and the girl whose mouth (or tongue?) got stuck in a Yoo-Hoo bottle were quite memorable.

Off-topic, but I know we've got a thread going about which re-enactments were of higher quality...AMW or UM. I'd have to say that Rescue 911 takes the cake when it comes to over-the-top acting though.

This is totally a UM case. I love the part when the guy looks mad that there's a pig in the road and it looks more like he's banging on the door to complain rather than to see if someone's in trouble! Good thing he got help and the woman was ok.

1990 UM fan, yes there was a dog featured who saved his owner's life when a guy tried to rob him at gunpoint. He bit the robber and the guy fled. It may also have been shown with the one where the dog rescued the drowning girl or deaf man. There are so many animal cases! I liked the one where the cat alerted the owners to the gas leak, too.

Was it really on Unsolved Mysteries? Everyone else seems to think it was on Rescue 911 but it seems newer than that like from the early 2000's.

that's the Oscar, Boo and Ringo one. I like that one alot. The pig one I'm talking about had another animal story with it but not any of these.

I'm 100% positive it was on Unsolved Mysteries. I've never seen Rescue 911 plus I remember the reenactment really well. I'm pretty sure from the quality of it that it was a later segment, like late 90s. However, that doesn't rule of the possibility that Rescue 911 also profiled the same segment.

The first animal heroes segment aired on January 3, 1997.
It featured Boo, Oscar and Ringo.
Boo-dog with his owner at a river and saved a deaf man from drowning
Oscar-dog who saved his owner from a burglar
Ringo- cat who saved his owners from gas leak by scratching at area where gas line was broken

The second animal heroes segment aired on June 4, 1999.
It featured Norman and Lulu.
Norman-dog who saved teenaged girl from drowning in the ocean/lake.
Lulu-pig who saved owner having a heart attack

Thank you for finding this. I don't remember Lulu being as big as the picture shows on the wiki page but it is the case I was referring to as well as the Norman case.

I remember seeing this back in the day. Here's the wiki:

http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Lulu

It definitely would have fit right in on Rescue 911, though!

Wasn't there a parakeet who saved his epileptic owner's life by warning her a seizure was coming on? I remember that one always being aired in conjunction with the pig segment.
