Default JEFFERSONS SEASON 12

i love the show its great entertainment this has got to e the only african american show in the 70's that can use racial slurs and still not offend people like i tell most people its just a show these people are not racist in real life they do whatever the producers tell them to say or do and they get paid cash its hollywood the show lasted 11 long years thats over a decade so i can understand that the actors were getting sick of seeing each other and wanted to go their seperate ways i mean 11 years is a pretty long time for the same people to work at a studio everyday, can somebody tell me why the cast members dident come back for a 12th season ?

Simple. CBS abruptly cancelled the show, the cast found out in the papers which was why there was no proper series finale.

True but they had the Jeffersons on Stage to make up for that.

I still can't believe after all these years we can't find a SINGLE person who saw that and tell us how it was!!

Obviously a series finale on TV would've been much better!

After Watching the two parter today when Jenny and Lionel get a divorce, that should have been the season finale because it would have been a good wrap up for the series even though it wasn't intended to be the series finale

But they didn't know they were being cancelled.

Why give up an easy paycheck if they keep paying you?

I meant to say CBS should have aired the 2 part Sayanora episode as a season finale so that we would not be talking today about the Jeffersons not having closure

If that was the last 2 eps aired on CBS we would always use Lionel's and Jenny divorce as a series finale instead of a season finale

If The Jeffersons had done a 12th season during the 1985-86 season (provided that its 11th season still had respectable ratings/viewership), and it would be the final season just to give the series some proper closure, then would Marla Gibbs still have left the show and moved on to NBC's new sitcom 227?

No, she only went to 227 because there were no other gigs

I meant, that was because a possible 12th season of The Jeffersons would have coincided with the first season of 227 during the 1985-86 season.

This 12th season of The Jeffersons is actually more of a "dream scenario".

Absolute shame this show was never given a proper goodbye. Quite a lot of sitcoms from the past ended on a regular episode.

I like to think George put in for retirement and him and Louise moved to a different house, perhaps somewhere quiet and relaxing for them. However Florence follows them and she still remained their maid.

George was too young for retirement when the show ended
