Willis turned into a wimpy young man

Different strokes dealt with alot of serious and creepy topics that people in the year 2012 go threw everyday of their lives i seen every episode on Nick at Nite every night in 2001 gary coleman stayed pretty much the same during most of the series because he looked younger than his age and he was short like 4'9 by the end of the series he had a little growth spurt they tried to put him in grown up situations but it seemed awkward and uncomfortable since all the girls he dated were a foot taller than him lol, willis was the bad kid in the early seasons he had a bad additude he was throwing books at people beating up arnold making threats and hurting mr drummands feelings every chance he got and getting into fights he even tried to runaway and making fun of rich suburban people and he always had this black power thing then by the end of the series he turned into a clumsy wimp and he seemed way to nice and having his friends boss him around,why do you think the producers changed willis character so much in the later seasons ?

He is probably trying to say he no longer had the edge he had when he first moved in which was evident in later episodes when he started wearing loafers and wasn't as STREET as he was in the beginning.

no willis dident have any confidence and courage like the early seasons he seemed to have low self esteem and poor social skills we never got to see him in the show in the last few seasons when we did he was only in for a few seconds and he gave one liners and his relationship with his younger brother arnold was different they seemed more like strangers than brothers i think it had something to do with the height willis was 6'0 tall arnold was under 5 feet willis was a giant next to poor little arnold

The first season, he was straight out of harlem and brought the attitude with him. The last seasons, his grammar improved, he dressed like he was playing tennis. Hey, even some of Willis's friends called him out on one early episode. That was funny! When Arnold told them people can call him "Aboobaca" LOL

I know what he was saying which is why I said Willis turned out that way and lost his edge. He was removed from the Harlem and started living with Mr Drummond in his penthouse so of course he was going to change over the years. And you can see as the years went on he felt no need to go back to Harlem just like George Jefferson because they wanted no part of that world anymore. The ones that are still stuck there is cool with it because that's all they know.

And that's all they want to know. Trust me, I grew up with people in the hood that takes pride in it and they don't want to know anything else because like your last sentence "that's all they know"

I think it's because they haven't had a opportunity to experience something else. Take me for example, I grew up in the hood and was offered by a Jewish Stockbroker a paid college tuition which allowed me to leave the hood and experience life in the country around different races. Most black males in my neighborhood either end up in jail or dead on the street.

Not really the case with black women.
