Make a fan’s day.
Seeking “Greatest game ever played” 1958 NFL Championship. Baltimore Colts v NY Giants in color December 28 1958, the 1958 NFL Championship Game was played at Yankee Stadium. It was the first NFL game to go into sudden death. Final score Colts 23, Giants 17. 45 million watched. It was a major NFL turning point in expansion and popularity. It’s become known as The Greatest Game Ever Played. It even has its own Wikipedia page. On Dec 13, 2008, ESPN showed a 2-hour special with restored colorized footage. Put together by ESPN Films and NFL Films. A living room set had players past and present. An expert reconstructed a controversial call on the field and using today's technology, he denied the Giant's first down (so the original official’s call was correct). |
