Hope this helps:

The girls lost their apartment to the boys when they had a contest to see who knew each other best. Chandler and Joey bet they knew more about Monica and Rachel than the girls knew about them. Ross organized a Jeopardy-like quiz game with a bunch of funny questions. If the girls won, then the boys had to get rid of the chick and the duck. If the boys won, the girls had to give them the apartment. Obviously the boys won. This is one of my favorite episodes, I believe it is called The One With the Embryos. The girls steal their apartment back several episodes later.

It didn't work out for Phoebe and the policeman (Gary). One morning a bird was singing a pretty song but Gary was annoyed so he took out his gun and shot the bird. Of course Phoebe did not like this and broke things off. (I thought this was a stupid way to get rid of this character. Couldn't the writers have come up with something better?)

I am drawing a blank on Chandler's promotion. Sorry.

Lynn, the girls are able to keep the apartment because Monica and Rachel agree to engage in a 1 minute kiss, if in turn the boys would agree to let them keep their apartment.

I have no idea why the writers put that in the script, but at least they were smart enough not to show it.

Oh yeah, I forgot that was how they got their apartment back. Thanks. They still had to live in the boy's apartment for several episodes until that happened though.

Yes and between that and the time when they get the apartment back, Rachel and Monica and Pheobe bet the boys for Knicks season tickets and the big apartment and they lose, but when Chandler and Joey are at the game, Monica, Rachel and Phoebe moves all their stuff into their old apartments. Then the boys get mad and thats when the girls kiss for a minute.
