Better than I expected, I just wish the cast had been credited in alphabetical order as the original series did.

I haven't seen it yet - are the opening visuals and theme song pretty much the same (modernized, of course)?

Does anyone know why Omri Katz didn't reprise John Ross like he did in the 1996 TV movie?

It's probably because he's retired from acting and young people don't know who he is. I don't think he's done anything much since Eerie Indiana except for the JR Returns movie.

I agreed about the photos in the opening credits.

I was looking forward to it.

The theme song still give me chills!

I'm glad they using the theme song.

They seem to get offended when you call it a "reboot," lol. It's considered season 14 of Dallas. TNT has even been promoting it as "On the new season of Dallas..."

All the twists and turns, backstabbing and surprises (Lucy and Ray at the wedding!), the many references to the '80s show - All great! The writing was sharp. I have a feeling this new season is going to be even more campy and over the top than any other. I can't wait!

It's was great to see J.R. put on that old hat and deliver those great one-liners by the end of the first hour. Bobby has a sad storyline, and continues to be the most grounded character. I liked his dedication and promise to his Mama. His relationship with Annie seems like it will be the only positive one on this show. At least, I hope so. I'm not sure what's going on with Sue Ellen, is she some kind of Congresswoman? Her reunion with J.R. was a real bright spot.

John-Ross is pure evil, and will probably end up being my favorite character, lol. Christopher was alright, and it does seem like Jesse's acting has improved since his stint on Desperate Housewives, almost a decade ago. His wife...I just knew something was up with her and her "brother." The Cousin's/Elena storyline is sure to be this generation's main love triangle.

I thought it was well done. I can't wait for next week's show!

They can get offended all they want, it's a reboot, not season 14.

I know. The Dallas website took a lot of flack for replacing the old cast photo with the new one. They eventually moved it to another board. This is a sequel series but it is not the original series.

I *LOVED* it!

This is going to be the only new show that I view regularly this summer. As it should be.
