Default Five reasons why this show is so much better than Mary Tyler Moore

1. valerie harper was the lead

2. The Rhoda Cast all together

3. Cranky character who is actually funny.....Ida

4. Fun episode topics about dating and everyday life

5. Unpredictable laugh out loud moments

Loving this show so much and it's really because it's in the category of my other favorite shows

Jeffersons
Three's Company

Season 3 is coming up soon!!!!

I respectfully disagree on almost all points. But then again The Jeffersons just doesn't hold up for me and Three's Company is burnt out for me as well.

Maybe I will feel differently in July when I start watching MTM at 8pm. But based on season 1 it was not as good as Rhoda. Me-TV will be airing season 2 in July

As I have said before, season 1 of MTM is probably the weakest of all of them. Mary Tyler Moore is a superior show overall.

Yea I like Rhoda but The Mary Tyler Moore Show was a better show overall. I like how you put as #2 about the Rhoda cast. I agree which is why I don't understand what the producers were doing later on. Maybe they couldn't have prevented Nancy Walker leaving for her own show but splitting Rhoda and Joe up and trying to remake the show as a Mary Tyler Moore clone didn't work.

I'm about to see now why the show bombed without David Groh and Nancy Walker.

Rhoda was a nice show but, IMHO, it pales in comparison to TMTMS. Nobody can top Mary as a lead character, not even Rhoda.

Even Mary was funnier on Rhoda because of the cast members-lol Carlton brought the funny out of Mary

Mary didn't need Carlton to be funny though.

Yup. Mary could do it all on her own. She was awesome.

I will have to sample season 2 of MTM. Rhoda seemed to be the funnier one when they were together and maintained her humor when she got her own show
