R.I.P. Nolan Miller

Nolan Miller, the man who gave Dynasty's ladies their glamorous look, has died at the age of 79 from complications of lung cancer. Mr. Nolan had a long carrer designing for such stars as Eva Gabor on Green Acres, Carolyn Jones on The Addams Family, and Tina Louise on Gilligan's Island. But it will be the beautiful gowns designed for Linda Evans and Joan Collins on Dynasty that Mr. Nolan will perhaps be best-remembered. Mr. Nolan was a big fan of classic Hollywood leading ladies such as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, and that influenced his work on Dynasty, where the cat-fights between Krystle and Alexis might be dubbed "The battles of the shoulder-pads".
