Default So far this show has 3 things in common with the Jeffersons-lol

1. Joe and Rhoda fighting each other with those foam sticks and falling on each other at the end after getting out of their anger.........just like the Jeffersons

2. Guy with a tuxedo at Rhoda's apartment playing the Accordian at a dinner party just like the guy at the Jeffersons apartment

3. Rhoda had a drunken doorman and so did the Jeffersons when they first moved in LOL

I'm sure there will be more since both shows were based in Manhattan at the same time

Yup, so far I have seen Brenda yell, Rhoda, Joe, and Ida.

The only character who hasn't yelled yet is Brenda Boyfriends

The late David Groh (Joe) was also a tremendous dramatic actor. He was absolutely chilling on separate episodes of Law & Order (in its early days). Yes, he was yelling a lot on that show, too!!

I love this story about David Groh that I read in a soaps book and later confirmed online - this is when he acted on General Hospital in the mid-80s:

http://eyeonsoaps.net/wp/2010/11/gh-didja-know/

"In a scene where D.L. Brock was rescuing Bobbie Spencer from thugs on the docks, actor David Groh got so caught up in the scene that he screamed an obscenity at the actors playing the thugs. Rather than re-tape, the producer drowned out his obscenity with a fog horn sound."

http://www.people.com/people/archive...085833,00.html

"General Hospital's Steve Bond (who plays sexy Jimmy Lee Holt) has been ordered by ABC's program practices department to leave his Jockey briefs in the bottom drawer. Nothing but boxer shorts on the show from now on, the taste arbiters ruled. But the censors were more lenient with fellow cast member David Groh (D.L. Brock), who in a fight scene to air Aug. 31 let slip a certain four-letter word beginning with "F." Rather than re-shoot the scene—in which D.L.'s lover, Bobbie Spencer (played by Jackie Zeman), is about to be raped—the producers decided to use a foghorn to cover up his faux pas."

Speaking of Joe, we can add number 5 to the list after yelling because the episode I just watched he had on a Tuxedo like George did LOL

Even though Joe's was just a basic black tux, we already know what kind of tux George was working with LOL

Thumbs up

I must have missed that one. Are we sure the writers on both shows weren't swapping ideas??

Now, Joe dancing like George - THAT would've been awesome.

I'm starting to think the same thing because now that is 6 similarities between the two shows so there must have been some idea swapping

About to watch 2 or 3 more eps.....can we get number 7?? I will let you know

Both shows have meddling mothers: Rhoda's Ma, Ida and George Jefferson's Mama, Mother Jefferson.

Not to butt in, but Rhoda wanted into the fashion business and so did Jenny, right?
