Being a long time admirer of the Spurs franchise.One of the greatest ever assembled.I really hope they can win this series and, I still think they will but it's going to come down to the wire in a game 7.The young hungry lions of the Thunder have really come alive.They can taste it.


The spurs being a team of vetrans,They are no starngers to this kind of adversity.They have been there and done this before.It's truly an art form to watch these guys play as a team.The passing is amazing and the chemistry
it's like the old teams back in the day.That stayed together and filled in the weak spots.

Fixing problems instead of trading away the whole team.The spurs remind me of the old time Bulls Jordan era Celtics,Lakers of yester year.

To a lesser extant my Clyde Drexler lead Blazers.Even though we we're never able to win it all.We made it there once and gave his airness all he could handle.

I hope the spurs can turn things around.Your thoughts?

The Thunder are a great team. I picked them at the beginning of the season to win it all. They have arguably the greatest player in the game in Durant, one of the three best point guards in Westbrook, the sixth man of the year in James Harden, and the best shot blocker and in my opinion, the best defensive player in the league, Serge Ibaka. A great bench too. If they can keep this team together, I see many many titles ahead. So young and talented, the sky is the limit. I'm sure David Stern would love to see a Lebron/Durant matchup in the Finals. Could potentially be another Lakers/Celtics thing for the new millennium.

The Thunder are a great team i can't deny that.Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the NBA.Westbrook i don't know about top 3 but he's up there some where pretty high.Harden good 6th man guy.And a hard nosed defence in Ibalka and Perkins.Who i really wish the Celtics wouldn't of traded.And i am sure you are right about David Stern wanting to see the Heat and Thunder.But as a fan i really want to see the Spurs and Celtics.If it did come down to Thunder and Heat.I'd go Thunder all the way though.

I'm actually a big Spurs fan too. They are the definition of what a great "team" is all about. They are like a well oiled machine, and have many class acts on their team. I'm not a Celtics fan, but wouldn't mind seeing the Spurs and Celtics square off for one final hurrah. It would set a pretty cool precedent for two of the oldest teams in the league to make it to the Finals. The Heat and Thunder have many great years ahead, so it wouldn't hurt to see Boston and San Antonio go at it. Westbrook's biggest issue is turnovers. Get better in that area, and he will be a complete point guard. I'm also a huge blazer fan from way back. Loved the days of Drexler, Porter, Kersey, Buck Williams, Duckworth, and Cliff Robinson coming off the bench. Great times for the City of Roses.

That's what i'm saying. I'd love too see it.It's going to be one of there ,If not there last chances.With both of there respected big threes.Duncan,Parker,Ginobili...Celtics big 4 actually Pierce,Garnett,Allen,and Rondo.Even though Rondo has lots of years left.He's my fav point guard in the nba.Parkers a close second.Yeah the Blazers we're great in those years. Drexler,Porter,Kersey,Williams,Duckworth,Uncle Cliffy Danny Ainge.The whole gang.I hope Rip city basketball can get back to that soon.We we're close ,But we just had a string of bad luck.With what happened to B.Roy and G.Oden.We still got the L.Train though Batum and a few other decent pieces,Also 2 high draft picksI wish the best.But we are the team that drafted Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan and Greg Oden over Kevin Durant.

Yeah, losing B-Roy and Oden was tough. I sometimes wonder what could have been for us had we picked Jordan, and had we picked Durant. Instead of Jordan/Pippen, it would have been Jordan/Drexler. I also wonder what could have been had Sabonis come over from Lithuania back in 1985 when he was drafted. Many have said that in his prime, he was the greatest Center to ever play the game. Like you stated though, atleast we got two high draft picks, along with L-train, Batum, Felton, and Matthews. Although we lost alot, we certainly have alot to work with as well. I'm optimistic about the future.

Jordan and Drexler, I think it would of been the greatest thing,Basketball has ever seen..But Jordan Pippen was pretty great too.They only won 6 rings together.What could of been.Sabonis coming over would of helped too.I always heard the same thing.That he was one of the greatest.When we finally did get him. He was pretty good too though.That team with Stodamire,Pippen,Grant,Wallace and Sabonis .That was it wasn't it?I can't even remember for sure.

There were different variations of the team in Sabonis' time, but yeah, the players you mentioned were together for quite a few years, and were actually a pretty darn good team. One year that team even had a 59-23 record for the season in 2000, and were one game away from the Finals, but lost to the Lakers in game 7. That was during the Jailblazer years, and had those guys been more mature, and able to put their egos to the side, they could have been something special too. Yeah, Sabonis was pretty awesome even in his blazer days. At 35 years old, and with two shot knees, he averaged 17 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2 blocks a game. Most Centers aren't that good in their prime, much less in their mid 30's, and with two bum knees. I can only imagine how good he was in his prime. Btw, great seeing a fellow basketball lover, and a fellow blazer fan on the boards! I'm looking forward to reading more of your thoughts in the future!

I remember that series with the lakers.Pippen nailed a 3 to win, and Kobe came back, And did the same thing.With like less than a second stealing it from us.Me too man, It's always nice to meet a fellow fan.Let's go Blazers!

1. 2 wins from the NBA Finals

2. Had a 2-0 Lead in the series


This CHOKE will definitely erase the previous by the Spurs

If i remember right,I think the spurs we're down 3-2 to the hornets on there last title run.And,they came back to win the series.But yes it would suck if they lose.

Yeah,they did during there last run.Everyone was big on the hornets and Chris Paul.But the spurs proved to be too much for the young upstarts in the end.I'll have to look it up to be sure of all the details.

The difference is the Spurs were the underdog in that series. They were down 0-2 and came back to win the next 2 and played well enough on the road in game 7.


I don't think I watched this series because I only focus on the west in the WCF.
