Apparently he went on to do his own show called 'The Feather and Father Gang' on NBC.

Yes I remember the show; he co-starred with Stefanie Powers as a father-daughter detective team. It aired Saturday nights at 10 but on ABC not NBC. That Spring and Summer of '77 there were many shows that ABC tried out in that time slot including "Dog and Cat" starring Kim Basinger and Lou Antonio and "Most Wanted" with Robert Stack.

Thank goodness they took him back. I am just surprised that they would allow a cast member to just get up and leave like that.

Might be when a contract is coming up for renewal and they get a better offer.

Remember Ida and Martin weren't in every episode of Rhoda so if the Actors get offered a regular series with them in every episode for better money.......
