Thumbs up 'The Office' Promotes Catherine Tate to Series Regular

Andy may have taken his job back, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of Nellie Bertram.

Catherine Tate has been promoted to series regular for the ninth season of The Office, TVLine.com reports.

Tate was introduced in the Season 7 finale as one of the candidates for Michael Scott's (Steve Carell) old position. Though she wasn't awarded the manager spot, she returned in Season 8 and stole Andy's (Ed Helms) job as manager, which he then took back in the season finale.

The ninth season of The Office will see every major character return save for Mindy Kaling's Kelly. The actress-producer will star in Fox's The Mindy Project, which will premiere alongside New Girl in the fall.

I hear what you are saying, but it all depends on the writing and the actor/actress to make the transition smooooooth. lol

She seems to be a "Pointless" addition because she is not part of the staff and wasn't replacing anyone so i never knew why she was added in the 1st place

No I don't think so because she was just one of the staff members.

But Sol, you and I both know that if you work at a real office, that eventually you will see employee turnover. So, it makes sense that new characters come on board.

I still miss Steve Carell, the show just has not been the same without him. I wish Michael and Holly would make an appearance so we can see what became of them. I loved Michael's send off, loved the last scenes with Jim and then with Pam in the airport. I don't care for Nellie, nor did I like Robert.
