Default What Happened to Detective Wilson?

I'm halfway through Season 1 and I noticed a character named Detective Wilson. He appears in 1 episode and so far hasn't been seen again. I assume that he only appears in 1 episode because I've seen season 1 before and don't even remember him. The strange thing is he's mentioned in several episodes and they give an explanation for his absence in each one, like he's expected to return at some point.

He was only a guest star and only appeared once in season 1. The actor starred in a show called S.W.A.T. during season 2 of Barney Miller which explains why he didn't return

That's exactly right. He WAS in the original unaired pilot, though, which appears as a bonus feature on the DVD box set.

Who did he play? I've watched all the episodes of GT, but I don't remember seeing him in it.

He was the tall guy Jeffery who was going out with Willona but ended up being a spy for Penny's Mother in season 6. The ep when all the freaks come to Willona's apartment and Penny's mother makes her first appearance after being gone for a year and a half

Thanks. I wonder why they kept mentioning him. It's so unusual for a show to keep mentioning a character who only makes one appearance.

It's some shows that mentions a character over and over and the character is never seen-lol

There was one Detective on BM who was with them in the Apt. stake out looking at a warehouse for drugs, he had a low voice and Cpt. Miller couldn't shower because his bathroom was being tiled.

Then there was a young detective who arrested a "Bubblegum Bimbo" who also loved Missile Command

Wonder what happened to both of them ???

I heard some years ago through a friend that when Ron Glass, Harris, read the script for episode two he refused to wear the dress. For whatever reason he ADAMANTLY refused to wear the dress, the friend told me. Of course there were always rumors about Mr. Glass being gay. And to my knowledge that's all they were. And maybe he didn't want to add fuel to the fire by appearing in drag. Enter a new character, Detective Wilson, for one episode. There's no mention of the character Harris in episode two. Zero. He's in episode one and re-appears in three and so on. And that's what I know. Sorry to take six years to respond.
