Default Are Ward and June Cleaver the most annoying parents in TV history?

I say that because they really would get on Wally and the Beaver. If Ward isnt giving the old "hard work" speech, then its June babying the kids. Im watching the show now and she got mad because the Beaver wouldnt eat his brussel sprouts??!!! And then she threatened that if he didnt, then he wouldnt go to the football game!! Are u kidding me??!! Not going to a game over brussel sprouts??!! You know what else, she would always say to Ward "I dont want them getting ideas". Uh, there kids!!! What do you want them to do?
Just like when June insisted on having Beaver go to a party when he was the only boy there. Or when they bought the Beaver some blow up thing to take to a party that was so embarrassing.

I just think there very annoying. I mean how much trouble could they get into?

Not at all. Ward and June are two of the BEST parents in TV history. If more parents were like them less kids would have problems.

I thought they were good parents too. Not perfect but so what -who is? (Actually I thought Ward was perfect but June a little too high strung ...)

My mom always had this question about June

"Why was she so dressed up to be in the house all day?" LOL

Ward and June are probably the best parents on TV.

I liked them as parents, I think overall they were very sweet to their boys. I love the episode where Beaver wants to be adopted for example. They show so much compassion for Beaver. My all time favorite episode of the show is "The trash man's kids." I love how Ward and June light up at the end when Beaver and Wally see them through the eyes of the trash man's kids, it's very sweet and sentimental. I also would add Ward would always take time to talk and explain things to his boys, he was an excellent father.

Except for Uncle Bill and Mr French, I would have liked Ward and June Cleaver for my parents

I think that Jim and Margaret Anderson on Father Knows Best were very good as well as Mr. and Mrs. C on Happy Days, but thats just me.

I agree. They're exemplary parents. They know how to set boundaries and authority as any good parent does, without being overbearing. For anyone to think otherwise makes me wonder how they were brought up.

I was brought up just fine but I just thought they could be a little hard on the boys. I mean I know that they have to set boundaries, which I agree with, but sometimes kids do things but there just kids. I mean I dont know sometimes what you expect kids to do sometimes.

To always be prepared for Ward's return home, of course. If it weren't for those measly kids being there half of the time, she would probably wear something more appropiate for him. Okay so I'm thinking of what I would be wearing for him...LOL!

I always thought it was odd that June would be cleaning in a dress and pearls. To be fair, I liked the episode when Aunt Martha made Beaver wear short pants with the cap and all and the kids made fun of him. I thought it was nice that Ward hid in the garage with a change a clothes for the Beaver so he wouldnt get made fun of.

Let me ask you about something. Im watching the Beaver right now and hes the only boy invited to Linda Dennison's party. Now, Beaver is scared and he doesnt want to go. Now, Ward more or less sternly told Beaver he had to go because June already talked to Linda's mom saying that Beaver was going.

Now, if your in Ward and June's position, what would you do? How would you handle the Beaver?
