Hard to believe she's 49 with three grown children now. Time flies.

Why they ever messed with her beautiful head of hair (possibly only second to Farrah's for the time period) after season 3 I'll never know. The eighties were very strange.

I've often wondered if Lisa would return to television if given the right role now that her children are grown. For years she would use the staunch reply of " full time housewife and mother" as to why she was no longer in the entertainment industry but now that maybe her kids are grown she might dip a cautious toe back in those waters?

I doubt it though. I've read a lot of Lisa's books and her philosophy on life flies directly in contrast with where Hollywood in general is today. It's a different industry than the one that Lisa chose to abandon in the eighties and given some of the things she's written in her books she's discouraged her children from "following in her footsteps" to a career in the industry.

While there are some networks (INSP, GMC) that would fall in line with the way Lisa lives her life, the majority of networks no longer produce the type of fare that I can see Lisa being a part of. Besides if we are to be honest with ourselves it would be a hard transition for Lisa or Julie or any of the FOL cast that have been away from acting to make a return now even on a part time basis for any number of reasons.

Still much like you I'd love to see her back on screens someday.

That's what i was kind of thinking. That now that her kids are grown, She might give it a shot,I think if given the right role. She could pull it off,With flying colors. She was a natural.

But you are right. It's a whole nother world now.I still have hope. That maybe things will get back to how they used to be.I haven't read her books.I will have to check them out. What are the titles?

Oh yeah I was never questioning her acting ability. She could go back tomorrow and based on her ability alone probably perform at a very high level. However, it's the other factors that I mentioned which would probably prove difficult for her.

I believe Lisa has written about ten books total all geared towards women. All of her books have a religious/born again Christian slant so if that isn't for you, you'll probably find some of her writing heavy handed.

The first book she wrote was entitled "Creative Correction" which was a parenting book about some of her own creative parenting methods she used in raising her children. The book was somewhat controversial when it came out because some of the methods Lisa endorsed came off as bordering on child abuse to a section of the population. There are many threads on this subject on this forum so I'll leave it at that except to state the obvious that Lisa's kids all grew up healthy and well adjusted.

She also wrote an autobiography of sorts entitled "The Facts Of Life & Other Lessons My Father Taught Me". It's not your straight autobiography but much like her parenting book contains some wonderful anecdotes about her family and people in her life.

Her latest book (which I've yet to pick up) sounds pretty interesting and is entitled "Friendship For Grown Ups". I was surprised to learn that Lisa had issues forming lasting true friendships over the years especially as an adult and apparently this book is about her struggle in making real connections and having adult friendships.

You could probably find a listing of all of her books by just entering her name in a search on Amazon.
