Default Rhoda was so HOT but so "insecure" and "desperate" LOL

I just can't understand why, I'm watching the episode "Love Blooms at Hempels" and after only 2 weeks of dating she needed to know how he felt and wanted to send him a letter asking what he felt about him. Trying to rush things and get married?

Why couldn't she just go with the flow???-lol

BTW: if this episode aired in 2012 she would have sent the guy multiple text messages instead of a letter....LOL

I agree, Rhoda was a hottie. I guess it was her mother that made her feel the way that she did.

Because her mother was an annoying pain in the butt. The queen of guilt trips. God forbid Rhoda should tell her mom about a great guy, Ida would have been up to Minneapolis in a nanosecond with a Rabbi, a brisket, and a 40 lb bag of rice. And of course Ida would have asked the guy lots of unnerving questions, when she wasn't leading her poor hen-pecked Martin around by the nose.

(Pity Rhoda ended up with that yutz of a husband Joe; I didn't care for him either. For starters he gave new meaning to the word dull)

Rhoda is not bad but I think Mary is goregous. She was a hottie on The Dick Van Dyke show as well.

One man's coffee is another man's tea as they say. I think Valerie Harper was the more attractive of the two women and Mary Tyler Moore's high pitched voice drives me nuts when I watch the MTM show.

I actually think they were on the same level of attractiveness

LOL! That's a good one, yes these days she would be sending him a bunch of text messages!

Rhoda was very pretty, but insecure. That was how they wrote her character. And back than it was true about mothers driving a daughter nuts to find a husband!

Yep!!!

And Joe did nothing to help her out of her insecurity! She really loved him and showed him that she was absolutely in love and he seemed to take her for granted!

You know thats what happens with a character like Rhoda. You wonder if a secondary character on MTM can carry her own show? I will say that if I'm Rhoda I just wouldnt tell her mother about the guys she dates. I mean who needs all those Q&A's about the guys? Not only that who needs a mother who buts in all the time?

Especially a mother who has wedding invitations already printed saying "Mr. and Ida Morgenstern are RELIEVED to announce the wedding of their daughter Rhoda"? Now you know that's wrong.
