Former 'Laverne & Shirley' Co-Star Michael McKean Hit By Car In Manhattan - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Actor Michael McKean was struck by a car on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on Tuesday.

According to DNAinfo, McKean was "one of three people rushed to St. Luke's Hospital."

Edward Hernendez, 26, who works at a nearby dry cleaner, said he ran outside after he heard the accident and saw McKean being strapped into a stretcher — although he did not know at the time that the man hit was a famous actor.

“The guy was on the floor, and bleeding,” Hernendez said.

A spokeswoman confirmed to The Wrap that McKean broke his leg in the accident, but said that he was otherwise "fine."

I hope he recovers soon. He was great in Short Circuit 2 (where I first saw him in).

Michael McKean struck on West 86th St and Broadway - 2 cars collided and smashed into him and then hit the mailbox and trash can.
