Arrow The Frasier Tour

I just put this together. If you have wondered if there was a Frasier tour, well, here it is. Andrea advised me that the Elliot Bay Book Store has moved. I don't know if the Elliot Bay Cafe moved with it, but it was just below the bookstore.

Controversy:
1) Frasier's apartment had to be close to Kerry Park at W. Highland Dr. & 2nd Ave. W. I believe in the special features of season 1, it is mentioned that the photographer for Frasier's balcony view was hung off a cliff near Kerry Park to take that shot.
2) Employees at the Elliot Bay Bookstore informed me that the Elliot Bay Cafe inspired Cafe Nervosa. I have no other proof of this other than it kind of does look like Nervosa.
3) From a few episodes, Cafe Nervosa was said to be at 3rd and Pike. At that corner, there is a Starbucks.

Most of these other locations were filming locations for "The 1000th Show" from season 5. This episode I like to call "Frasier Crane Day".

Enjoy

Default I posted this a while ago

But thought it deserves to be here to:

Ever wonder what Frasier meant by "I live on the counterbalance"?

Central Queen Anne is known as the Counterbalance (Queen Anne Avenue North from Roy to Galer streets), so called because an actual counterbalance was used to get trolleys up the south side of the Hill in the 1890's.

Thanks for the map... it's interesting to see where everything theoretically would be. So is this the downtown Seattle area? KACL was supposedly across the street from Nervosa, so that gives us an idea where it was, but I wonder where Niles's apartment was? I remember when Martin was going to move in they said it was pretty far away from McGinty's and the dog park and all his other regular haunts, so he must have been closer to Nervosa than Frasier's apartment was. That would make sense I guess, because in season one, when Frasier showed up at Nervosa, Niles said he'd found his regular afternoon coffee shop. Even Roz said in "The New Friend" that she lives next to the marina, so she's probably pretty close to that same area. That puts Frasier's apartment not as close to any of those other locations as you'd think. It's hard to tell on the map, but that looks like about a 20 minute to maybe a half hour drive from Frasier's apartment to where Nervosa would theoretically be if it's a convoluted area with a lot of traffic. I wonder where Daphne and Martin were walking to and from when they got caught in the rain and came into Nervosa that time?

**okay, strike all that, google maps says at 3:30 in the afternoon that Frasier's apartment location is only about 7 or 8 minutes from where Nervosa would be even with traffic. So maybe Niles was the one who lived further away, and his office was near Nervosa? But I still wonder where Daphne and Martin were walking to that time.

Hmmm, one more thing I noticed... why is it called Elliot Bay Towers when it's not over by Elliot Bay and the Elliot Bay Cafe? You'd think if they were going to choose a location (which apparently they did because they gave an actual location and address) that they would have picked something over by Elliot Bay... because "Elliot Bay Towers" doesn't actually exist in Seattle, right?

I've never seen anything called the Elliot Bay Towers but if I ever find it, you can bet I'll be taking pictures of it! It'd be kind of cool to know what the outside looks like!

As for the Ellliot Bay Towers not being by Elliot Bay? Hmm... total mystery but who knows how they come up with this stuff!

And yes, Pat... the Elliot Bay Bookstore has moved because I think Pioneer Square was getting too expensive or they needed a bigger space but I love the pictures you posted! I am looking foreword to visiting to the new store because the pictures I've seen look awesome! Thanks for making that amazing map and posting those pictures!

That's really interesting about the counterbalance thing. I had no idea!

As far as Roz living near the Marina, there is a Marina in the Magnolia area but that's quite a ways from Queen Anne. Maybe there's another one somewhere that I'm missing!

Thanks for all the info Andrea. Here is the only shot of the outside of Elliot Bay Towers. It's from The Impossible Dream from season 4
