David Hasselhoff Reveals The Origin of "Baywatch's" Slow-Motion Running
David Hasselhoff: "Baywatch" Slow-Motion Running Origins Revealed
05/18/2012 When TV fans think of "Baywatch", this is most likely the image conjured up: The sun is shining, the waves are crashing and busty woman in a red, high-cut swimsuit is running by in slow-motion. David Hasselhoff, the man who helped make "Baywatch" a household name, has revealed why the lifeguards of "Baywatch" ran so slowly all the time. Jiggling enjoyment aside, Hasselhoff told Men's Health the slow-motion running came about because of budgetary reasons. "That came about organically because we had no money," he said. "We didn't have enough financing to finish the show. So we found a way to fill the hour by shooting people in slow motion. We said, 'Well, girls in bathing suits look good running in slow motion, let's just shoot that.' And we found out that the audience kinda liked it." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...40.html?ref=tv |
