Question If Dwight Is A Bad Choice For An 'Office' Spin-Off, Then Who(m) Would Be Better?!?

A lot of people have already been critical of the planned Dwight Schrute spin-off. If he is a bad choice, is there any other character that would be a stronger candidate and why?

I would say Jim but that would mean I would have to see his family life and I definitely wouldn't be interested in seeing that. So basically it's no other character that I would see on their own show.

Ugh an Office spin-off is a bad idea in general. Did NBC learn nothing from Joey? Not to mention The Office's popularity is already diminishing.

My big issue is that Dwight is a "crazy" character and he is going to need someone to counter balance the crazy. At present, no one lives at the farm but Mose, is Mose is crazy too (and mute).

If I were to write the show, I would have Dwight married to Angela (Angela divorces the Senator and the kid is Dwight's) and make this show sort of like the John Cleese Brit-com Fawlty Towers, with several new characters. However, these characters really have to shine and be funny right off the bat. However I like the Dwight character, I just do not think that he can pull it off by himself.

I have said this many times on this board, but the person who should get her own show is Ellie Kemper, as another character. She reminds me a lot of Mary Tyler Moore (and I have said this many times here). She is absolutely beautiful, a girl next door, and very funny. Kemper is also an intelligent woman, graduating from Princeton. I couldn't pass PE or lunch in Princeton.

I would like to know who runs NBC, the Nothing But Crap network. Or the EFPARNBC (Except For Parks And Recreation Nothing But Crap) network. Who runs this? Teenage boys? Monkies? Insane Asylum workers?

Or, what about Creed Bratton rejoining the Grass Roots and have these late 60's (in age guys) come together to do an oldies concert series? Grass Roots was actually a pretty rocking band and they had an excellent lead singer.

The Creed Bratton Show could have a lot of old 1960's/1970's actors play different roles in the show and maybe have other musicians cameo for the series. Maybe downplay a bit of the Creed nuttiness and a fictional backstory on why the band broke up in the first place.

I think this would be a great series that could write itself.

I could never watch Angela on a spinoff since she is unlikable. The actress does a good job in playing a unlikable character and comes off so natural.

Mose is also played by Mike Schur, the showrunner of Parks & Recreation. Unless P&R gets canned (which is a possibility, but I don't *think* it will) there's no way Schur will leave P&R for the spin-off.

Mose (played by Mike Schur) is the show runner for P&R? I knew I liked that guy for a reason.

I think Angela being married to Dwight on the show would work because she is sort of a bitch. Fawlty Towers also had a wife who wasn't likable. Basil wasn't likable. He was a jerk, but a funny jerk.

I'm gonna watch it, but I think it is a terrible idea. Who runs NBC anyway? Me, drunk and stoned could do a better job than those clowns.

I agree that any spinoff idea of the Office is a bad idea. Probably won't last beyond 6 episodes.

I think it's a stupid idea because the PARENT SHOW is not one of the top ten shows being watched. So why would the spinoff be watched?
