Two mothers chaperoning a high school prom in Manitou Springs, Colo., allegedly sprayed Lysol on students for dancing dirty, calling the teen girls “sluts” and “whores.”

About eight students were hit with the disinfectant spray, Manitou Springs police told the Daily News. The spray got in some students’ eyes and mouths, and they had to leave the prom, said police.

A female teen that was at the April 21 dance is pressing charges against the chaperones.

Jennifer Farmer and Hannah Rockey, both 42, were cited for harassment and obscene language, police said.

The women complained to a security guard that the students were dancing “like they are having sex with their clothes on” and appeared as if “they were advertising...sex,” according to police.

The Manitou Springs school district issued a statement Thursday saying it did not condone the parents’ action and would take steps to instruct future chaperones on proper protocol, reported the Denver Channel.

The women have denied the accusations. They could face fines up to $750 and six months in jail if charged and convicted, ABC News reported.

Thoses chaperones were WAAAAAY out of line. If the dancing snapped their girdles so, they should have had the two " lewd" dancers escorted off the floor for a time out. The chaperones actions also hurt some innocents. Facing some legal charges may be what the dumdum ladies need to snap them back to normal, and more measured, responses.

I also find it ironic that they are complaining about students being inappropriate, while they proceed to scream obscenities, calling the students "sluts" and "whores," and then assault them. Whose really being inapproriate here?

No parent nor teacher would Lysol a people at a prom 50 years ago, when Rock was young and many parents didn't care for the music their children listened to...so why now?

I agree they went too far. They shouldn't have used Lysol spray on the students.

Geeze, I'm glad that I wasn't at that prom. Why does one think to bring Lysol anyways? I would hate to see the kind of punishments that these mothers have for their kids at home, I mean if they can guiltlessly spray kids and call them names like sluts.
