Default Most Shocking Cancellation/Most Surprising Renewal 2012 Edition

Ok time to weigh in--what has been the most shocking cancellation and the most surprising renewal so far from the recent network upfronts?

I'll have to wait for word from CBS before I pick a shocking cancellation. Every series that was cancelled by ABC, CW, FOX, and NBC deserved to be cancelled.

The most shocking renewal was Up All Night. It was doing very poorly near the end of its run, so I was SHOCKED when I saw NBC gave it another season.

It's going to be either CSI Miami or CSI NY when it's confirmed on what 'CSI' CBS had decided to cancel.
That will Definitely be the most shocking cancellation this season.

I just read this on the TV Guide Twitter Page: https://twitter.com/#!/TVGuideMagazine

It's looking like CBS may decide to renew "CSI: NY" but cancel "CSI: Miami" after ten seasons.("CSI" is safe.) Stay tuned for confirmation.

I thought ABC would go for GCB over Body of Proof. It didn't really *shock* me that they didn't, but it was surprising.

Whitney's renewal was somewhat surprising as well.

No, I still expect CSI: NY to be cancelled instead. It had a proper ending and lower demo. Why should Miami be cancelled instead? If that happens, blame NYC 22. All this talk about Miami getting cancelled instead of NY has got me feeling anxious.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

Go ahead, just cancel both of the CSI spinoffs, I don't care. Let the original soldier on alone. Bury a long-running show so bad you cancel it without a proper wrap-up.

Most shocking cancellation - can't think of any

Most shocking renewal - Two and a Half Men. Is CBS aware of ABC's failure of an experiment with Laverne and Shirley without Shirley?

CSI: Miami is hardly a surprising cancellation, it's been limping around on Sunday, a show in its 10th season is too expensive for that.

I guess the most shocking renewal was Body of Proof, I was ready to write it off a long time ago (when it only got +3 episodes), it practically cheated death!

Both Up All Night & Whitney are surprising too but they are "save face" renewals in my book, NBC couldn't afford to cancel 6 freshmen comedies.

GCB is the most disappointing cancellation but it wasn't doing that well and I knew this would happen when Scandal was the more stable.

Most shocking cancellation is CSI: Miami. I really thought it was going to be CSI: NY.

Unforgettable is a surprise to me--one of the higher ranked shows for CBS.

I think this will be the last season for it--it is really Three Men at this point CBS really needs to think about what will anchor Monday in the future as it has aging shows in 2 and 1/2 and HIMYM. Can Mike and Molly anchor on its own or is this still basically a time-slot hit?

CSI:Miami's cancellation was the definite last straw. That was the last time I let a long-running TV series (5 seasons or more) get cancelled without a proper wrap-up in any form. CBS should be fined US$2,500,000 for the cancellation. And whoever is responsible for cancelling the series should do 232 push-ups (one for each episode). What made it worse is my grandson Jim got into a profanity-laced tirade about no wrap-up and he got into trouble. He felt like it was a nightmare because it didn't have a wrap-up.

Numerous shows have never had a final episode. Television is a business and they're not about to change the way they do things.
