Default When Do You Think Lucy Looked Her Best?

I just finished watching The Lucille Ball Comedy Hour, an extra on the second season Lucy Show DVD set. Lucy was 52 when this aired in April, 1964 and does she ever look gorgeous in this! Gloriously costumed by Edith Head, she is every inch the glamour star from the old MGM movies. People seem to forget that one of the world's funniest women was also one of the world's most beautiful.

When she was on the silver screen. She was just perfect.

I agree. In some of those 1940s Technicolor movies she looked stunning.

Agreed, she looked sensational in those Edith Head outfits.

On "The Lucy Show", from the third season to the sixth season.

That domestic housewife/ mother look in the first season and parts of the second season made her look older and she didn't look her best in comparision to the way she would look a couple of years later. They made her more attractive in those later seasons with stylish outfits, better hairstyles, and losing some weight.

Actually from the second season as the first one was in black and white and we couldn't even see her RED hair in that one. I don't think Lucy ever had to lose weight her whole life.

Lucy always looked fine to me in The Lucy Show. The only curiosity I can think of was that very noticiable blue eye-shadow that both she and Viv wore so heavily in the color shows. It was the style then. I still find it astonishing that CBS had these beautiful color films to show and stubbornly played them in black-and-white for two years. (Take that, NBC, with your "color days", days when all of NBC's output would be shown in color).

OMG!!! Look at those pics the LittleRicky posted. Not even Liz Taylor could compete with that IMO.

For some odd reason, I actually find her more attractive when she was well into her 40s and 50s instead of during her younger days in film. I suppose it's probably my preference for the later fashions. Particularly the Hollywood episodes of ILL, the Comedy Hour ep where they go uranium hunting (I believe the first with her newer hairdo/wig), and several points during the second to fourth seasons of TLS. She was smokin' hot for a woman in her 50s more than once. Even one of my friends, who thinks the sickly skinny pierced Dragon Tatoo girls are the hottest thing walking, commented how gorgeous she looked during a Hollywood episode. She really was what I'd consider a natural beauty.
