Does anyone know when Anthony Edwards is leaving the show? I wish NBC would air ER next month instead of the stupid Olympics!

He is leaving at the end of this season. Two orginial cast members left out of the cast. Lewis and Carter.

i didn't really like carol. doug was pretty cool, though. i couldn't stand how carol would constantly whine about doug after he left. blah.

out of curiousity....does anyone have any idea as to what the story line is for how there getting rid of him??? Because I think it's at the end of this season and don't they normally leave it so that the character can come back if they want to???

Considering the bad streak of luck his character has had over the years, it would seem likely that Mark will probably fall victim to his brain tumor.
There could be the possibilty that he will be fired because of the incident at the end of last season when he let the mass murderer die in front of him. They alluded to that recently, so that will come back to haunt him.
Anthony Edwards has strongly stated that he wants to leave, so it is unlikely they'll leave some sort of window for his character to return. Most likely, Mark Green is going to that great big waiting room in the sky.
Or move to Washington with Doug and Carol, take your pick.
