Default Could Nancy Dussault carry the show after Ted Knight died?

I think the show could had gone on after Ted Knight died with Nancy Dussault's character adjusting to widowhood. Nancy's character got funnier as the years went on the shows.

Do you think the show could had continued with Nancy taking the lead?

I love TCFC it's one of my favorites but, she didnt have any chance of carrying the show. I think JM J had a better chance at carrying the show.

Honestly though I think the show was done with or without Mr. Knight.

The show was scheduled to return for a 7th Season if it had not been for Ted's passing and illness. In the 6th season of TCFC he pressed his way in every episode and you can tell he was battling cancer. Every episode he was looking more and more gaunt.

I did like the addition of Pat Carroll on the show. I think with Ted battling cancer that season might had something to do with the show not reaching its full potential. If you look at those shows you can tell Ted was very sick.

There is no way in hell Nancy coulda carried the show!

Maybe they could've done a spinoff show with Monroe and the girls but it wouldn't have lasted more than a season.

I never noticed any sickness from Ted during that final season.

You did not notice the change of appearance in Ted's appearance the final season where Henry and Muriel were living in Marin County. Every episode that season he looked more and more gaunt.

He did a great job and I couldn't really tell. If you want to really see the horrifying effects of cancer look at Tammy Faye Baker in her final days! Talk about the living dead!

LOL..WTF??

I thought it was legit in the beginning! You think the producers actually filmed the intro credits for the 2nd season of the Ted Knight show?

Look at the Vietnamese restaurant bigot episode in the last season.

At the end Henry hugs Muriel and he looks great! There's no way you guys can tell me looks sick there!

I just saw that episode on Antenna TV the other day. He didn't look sick there. Antenna TV is in the last season now, and so far, I can't tell that he's sick.

I can't tell he was sick. It's possible that they filmed these shows far in advance before they aired. It was a syndicated show after all. The last season didn't premiere until April 1986.
