Default Anchor Bay VS Mill Creek DVDs

Hi,

I was wondering what is the deference in the DVDs besides of Season 1 on Mill Creek that is uncut. Also I notice that the Mill Creek version is cheaper too.

Thanks

The Mill Creek sets are 3 discs per season compaired to Anchor Bay's 4 disc seasons. That means more episodes per disc, which I guess can affect picture quality.

Mill Creek released season one UNEDITED. Anchor Bay's first season is the syndicated, edited versions of the episodes.

I wonder if the picture quality is as great on the Mill Creek DVD's. I hope so!

I was so turned off that Season 1 from Anchor Bay had syndicated episodes, that I never collected any of the series. Now that Millcreek, is re-releasing the whole series, and at a budget price, I'm now getting every season, as they come out. (Anchor Bay's seasons 8 & 9 were also edited)

Another drawback with the Millcreek sets is the discs are in paper sleeves inside the plastic case. I'm buying generic dvd cases that hold 3 discs and just slipping the sleeve from the other case into the new one, along with transferring the discs.

I don't see any problem with picture quality with the newer releases.

It's awful that season's 1, 8, and 9 were edited by Anchor Bay. I'm glad to hear the picture quality of the Mill Creek DVD's seem to be very nice.

Though Season 1's release was unedited, I don't know if there's any guarantee seasons 8 & 9 are going to be. There was number that was done at the end of an episode on season 8, where the 2 Beckys do a routine to The Patty Duke Show, (Identical Beckys), which I would love to see again. This was edited out of the Anchor Bay release. Fingers Crossed!

LOL, yes, I know. I hope the entire series is released in it's original network form.

So, I am wanting to purchase the sow on DVD. It sounds like Mill Creek is the place to start with Season 1.

However, wheni click the images of the DVDs at the top of the page, they have the same reviews for both Anchor Bay and Mill Creek?? Am I missing something??
