Default A Little Piece Of Trivia

I'm sure all you Lucy fans know this but I thought I'd share anyway.
1. Desi Arnaz was the founder, creator, inventor (take your pick) of the re-run concept. There would be no syndication if not for him.
2. He was also the creator of the 3 camera set-up on stage. Before this, television shows were recorded with just one main camera on stage.
3. Aaron Spelling was a young actor on the episode where the Ricardo's drove thru Bent Fork on their way to California...he played the gas station attendant trying to give Lucy directions on how to get to Nashville without going thru Bent Fork.
4. The actress who played Peggy in the episode where she has a crush on Ricky is the actress who does the voice of Judy Jetson on the Jetsons cartoon. The actor who played Arthur on the same episode is Richard Crenna...he played the Green Beret sargent in First Blood with Stallone. He was also on The Real McCoys
5. The actor who played Carolyn Applebee's husband Charlie (episode where Little Ricky and Little Stevie's birthday parties are on the same day) is the voice of George Jetson...The Jetsons cartoon.
There...I blew my wad on trivia. LOL. If I think of anymore I'll post 'em.
Oh, one more...LOLOL...the actress who played Mrs. Lewis (episode where she had a crush on Mr. Ritter the grocery man was played by Bea Benedaret...she was originally cast as the role of Ethel (I might be mistaken on this one...someone correct me if I'm wrong) and the actor who played Mr. Ritter, Edward Everett Horton was the voice of a skit on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show...Fractured Fairy Tales.
There...I'm done for now.

She also appeared again with Lucy in an early episode of The Lucy Show entitled "Lucy's Sister Pays a Visit". She played Lucy's sister, Marge.

Lucille Ball originally wanted the role of Fred Mertz, Ethel's husband, to be played by Gale Gordon. But it didn't happen because Gale Gordon was already locked into a television series at the time. But later in the 1960's he joined Lucille Ball on The Lucy Show as Mr. Mooney and Here's Lucy as Harrison Otis Carter. Lucy really adored Gale.

Thanks LucyFan...I didn't know that. I rarely catch The Lucy Show but I'll be on the look out for it. Gale Gordon was a riot...I love Mr. Mooney and I loved him as Mr. Littlefield on ILL.

HI JENNYLEE!!!

He also went on that very next season (1952-53) to co-star on fellow Desilu show Our Miss Brooks with Eve Arden, who in 1967, starred in Desi Arnaz produced The Mothers-In-Law.
