I stumbled upon this book at the library and took it out.
I knew Rue had written a book a few years back, however I had never seen it in any bookstores. Guess you can tell how long it's been that I have visited the library. I knew Rue was married a few times but had no idea of any of the details. |

I jumped to near the end of the book (bad habit of mine) where Rue got to the Golden Girls. There were a couple of mistakes she made timeline-wise. Not major, but still mistakes we can all pick up on.
That makes me wonder if earlier in the book some things she said may have not quite happend like said they did. What I'm thinking is Rue only wrote this book (2007?) a couple of years before she passed. |

Rue only had one child, a son by her first husband, named Mark (born in 1958). He is (or was) a musician.

Rue got married to husband#1 because she was pregnant. She loved him, however he left her & son. Don't quite know what his problem
was. She said is took her 28 years to finally get over him. Rue married husband #2 and #3 to provide a father for her son. Husband#3 beat her yet it was the longest of her first 5 marriages. She stayed with him that long because she didn't want another divorce. Husband#4 was the only one she had no pictures of. Husband#5 was a childhood friend whom she married a year before GG started. Husband#6 is her widower. It was her longest marriage. |

He beat her are you SERIOUS?!? Where's that melon baller Sophia mentioned in the episode with Blanche's grandson. I'd like to take that and knock that sucker into the next century. Or better yet I'll just pull out my Louisville Slugger. Wow. |

One of these days, I will learn how to edit a post.
When I said Rue's 3rd husband beat her, beat may have not been the right word. However, he did slap her when she disagreed with him, and she said she was not alowed to have different opinions. It was her son Mark who was around 11 at the time that said I can't live with Mom until she gets rid of her husband. That made Rue see things more clearly. Also, she didn't refer to either her 3rd husband or 4th by their real names. Her 3rd husband was "The Italian" and her 4th husband was "The Greek." Rue married her 4th husband while she was on Maude. She says not long after they married she realized he married her for her fame. He's the husband she talks about the least. I think she lost a lot of money after that divorce, but doesn't talk about it. |

I have been wanting to get that book for the longest time. I will get around to it someday. It all sounds interesting.
