Default Antenna TV

are they showing this unedited and with all the original music intact? I know in the episode "A DATE WITH JENNIFER" last week, the song "Hot-blooded" by Foreigner was replaced in one scene, and the episodes seem to be uncut, but I'm not sure. Are they?

From what I heard from others (I don't have Ant TV)--it is the replaced music versions on all episodes.

Antenna TV shows the same versions local stations would show

I can receive Antenna TV and have been watching WKRP on Sunday nights. Here are my observations.

I watched WKRP during its original network run and in syndication. The episodes on Antenna TV do appear to be unedited. A few songs are original, but unfortunately most of it is replacement music.

I specifically remember seeing the network and syndicated versions of the funeral home commercial episode, which aired last night on Antenna TV. Parts of them making the commercial (specifically the first couple takes of Johnny's voice overs) were edited out of the syndicated version, but last night they were intact.

That's surprising that the eps are unedited since I thought they showed local syndicated versions.

yea, I've noticed that they all apear to be unedited. I remember watching them on E! in the 90s and on a local station in the 80s and noticing that they were edited.

One bit of music that I wish wasn't replaced though is Jennifers doorbell.

Oh man, the Hoyt Axton episode was just on last Sunday and I completely missed the doorbell. I think Jennifer's doorbell originally played Fly Me to the Moon. What did they replace it with?

It was only one line of the song, you'd think it would fall under fair use or is that just for news usage?

I recall seeing this original episode, with the doorbell playing "Fly Me to the Moon". I remember how it sounded but did not know at the time what the tune was. I have read that it was replaced with "Beautiful Dreamer", written in the 19th century (and certainly in PD by now) by Stephen Foster.

One of the episodes tonight was the one where Jennifer had a thing for her building's maintenance man, Steele. When he rang the doorbell it did play Fly Me to the Moon!

What I was told was that the music replacements for the syndicated episodes are for Season 1 only.

OK Treky, something's weird. I'm recording these shows so I just watched the episode again to make sure I wasn't hallucinating and Jennifer's doorbell played the first verse of Fly Me to the Moon, of course in chimes and not someone singing!

I'm watching these on KTLA; I don't suppose they would play different versions for East and West coast viewers, would they?

I found a WKRP sound bite website. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and click on doorbell.wav, it is the sound Jennifer's original doorbell made and is what I heard last night. http://www.littleshopofvoices.com/wkrpwavs.html

Here's a link directly to the doorbell file
