'Bob's Burgers' Needs to Be Renewed For The Overall Health of The Animated Genre

The animated series can't just depend on Matt Groenig and Seth Macfarlane to develop quality animated tv shows. There needs to be other voices and minds in play. Mike Judge creator of 'King of the Hill' is also on the list, but his other show on ABC failed to garner much interest. Do you think a show not created by either Groenig or Macfarlane needs to succeed? Agree or disagree?

i'm not a fan of the show so I can't say whether it deserves to be renewed or not, but I think a show should stand on its own merits, not be judged because of some imaginary hole it might try to fill.

there are lots of good animated shows out there, depending on your tastes and how much of a snob you are against animation/cartoons in general; Archer is awesome but it is pretty raunchy and not everyone's taste, I have watched a couple of episodes of Phineas and Ferb and it is surprisingly well written and entertaining.

I guess I see your point. I am just curious if a show like Bob's Burgers needs to be a hit? Do you think the animated genre is that like the western or Variety show and is on borrowed time?

I strongly agree. Not only would I love to see other animated shows from other animators but I would to see other animated shows that aren't based on families. Look at Futurama. It was from Matt Groiening but he took a differant route and instead of a family, he created characters that formed an ensemble and it worked. Bobs' Burgers is about a family but it also a workplace show so it's a little differant. I would like to see an animated workplace comedy. Speaking of that, Fox has a new animated show call Murder Police which is cop show but is an animated comedy and is from one of the writers who used to work for Seth. So there is hope. And by the way, the only good quality show Seth has done is American Dad. Also, how about more FEMALE leads in animated sitcoms? Look at live action sitcoms. There are hundreds of women in leads and also behind the scenes. I'm so sick of Seth and his shows that are all the same. I hope Murder Police succeeds.

There were animated prime-time shows on the other networks mainly in the 90s and early 00s. The Critic was on ABC in 1994 before it moved to Fox. God,the Devil and Bob was on NBC in 2000 and D.C. Critters was on ABC in 1991. There are more I don't remember but I agree that the other networks should try animated shows and not just Fox.

I know it's probably kind of a "fringe" thing,but I kinda like "Bob's".Maybe this one's more for fans of "dry" wit,which I certainly am.
